Since it's early September and we've had fall beers upon us for a few months already, it's only fitting that I saw cases of Jubelale at a store yesterday, right?

Just got my Jubelale and Full Sail Wassail today ... still very much summer to me right now, 93*F in the Boston area today.

Surprised not to see Samuel Adams Winter Lager out yet.

It's a tricky window for Deschutes in most of their more popular distro areas. Where I live winter often starts before Halloween, but there looks to be at least a couple weeks of summer left at the moment.

Saw these in San Diego over the weekend...it just wasn't right. I'm in PHX and we'll see 80s and 90s through October/into Nov. so I think we only get a couple of "appropriate weeks" in the year for winter brews anyways. I say brink on the BA RIS! Why not have a glass of Ivan and sweat through your shirt outside?

With the number of IPAs, DIPAs, etc. that are produced by breweries nowadays, this change of pace to the winter styles is just in time. It's likely that there isn't much hops still available for the breweries to make very many more hoppy beers. My taste buds are ready for these luscious, malty beers.

There's only one winter beer that if it were out, I would buy today............Celebration.

i third this statement....celebration, as long as it is continually being bottled, will be something i would buy all the time!

I've noticed a couple here too. With the exception of Harveys Christmas Ale, they can all bugger off.

Although if I see celebration making it's way over here then I'll try that

Any fans of Great Divide Hibernation Ale? Had it two winters ago in Denver and loved it! Didn't notice it in NC last year but will seek it out this winter (summer).

Yesterday (which, as mentioned above, was a very hot day in Boston, and muggy too) I grabbed a Founders Red's Rye from the fridge. When I poured it, however, my glass filled with inky blackness. In my dumbassery I'd accidentally grabbed a 2012 bottle of Founders Imperial Stout instead.

My drinking does vary per the weather and the season, so my first thought was that it was waaaaaay too hot and muggy for a big, rich stout.

My second thought was OMG THIS IS FANTASTIC; I forgot the season and enjoyed the beer.

To be fair, seasonals make zero sense in Arizona with respect to a normal calendar.

That's exactly why I've had to resort to stocking up on seasonals. It sucks because I feel like I'm paying double for beer every few weeks when i decide to buy something early that I won't drink for a month or more. But i have to do that because like you said, it will be sold out 2 months before it should be because of the vicious cycle. Oh well!

It'll be winter up north before you know it. Lived in WI and MN the past 3 years and it can be anywhere from 40-90 degrees in September. Moved to GA a month ago and hope we stay in the 70-80's all winter.
