Wanted to get some BA'ers input - I'm looking for something to get my husband for our fifth wedding anniversary. We're doing the traditional theme of wood and I wanted to do something also beer related. Can anyone think of any wood beer related gift ideas? A vintage wooden beer crate with some various barrel aged beers is my only idea so far.

Smoked beers first came to my mind, but I'm funny that way. Barrel Aged beers are a great idea, too, of course.

This Kwak glass and holder are pretty neat-

He does love smokey beers. I do not however. Any suggestions for especially good scotch ales or other smokey beers?

    Wood gift... husband... anniversary...

The wooden crate idea you suggested is good. Anything barrel aged would fit. Sounds fine to me.

I am the poster child for unassumingly creating "that's what she said" jokes.

Lucky for you it's still a shelf turd in most places. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

He's probably familiar with Schlenkerla, but the Eiche is a little harder to find (therefor more special!) and maybe he hasn't had it yet. Great stuff (though I like the Urbock even better):

Build him a bar of teak and spalted maple. I know I'd totally dig that.

Hah DelMontiac! Sounds awesome but unfortunately a little out of my skill range. Maybe some day!

I'm forever looking at this and thinking "next time..." There's only so long I can hold out before I pull the trigger.

To be honest, I like the OP's original idea of a vintage wooden beer crate with some various barrel aged beers, and i'd have to agree Bois would be perfect (assuming he likes Old Ales). Maybe see if you can find some special barrel-aged beers that he doesn't have access to normally? It might have to be via trade, and I'm not sure how comfortable you are with it, but it's the only thing I can think to contribute right now. Good luck, though.
