The other night after I got home from working a double, the first thing I wanted was a nice, cold beer. I started to grab a CCB Tocobaga when I saw some MGD that my sisters boyfriend had left and developed an instant craving for it. Had one then proceeded to my Tocobaga, anyone else ever have a craving for a BMC beer? What beer and is there a common cause for the craving?

To be honest I like BMC more than I like Tocobaga so it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes I do, sometimes a nice uncomplicated beer is good, I has a few Miller Lites today watching the game. I don't want to suck on a 10% abv brew at 1:00.

There's a pyramid building in my garage currently with 57 cans of MGD, Lite, Coors, Budweiser, and Bud Light and I can't bare to touch the stuff. I wish guests would start taking from it as they leave but none have bothered so far. Some have been in my fridge and even then I couldn't bare to drink a cold one.

I just bought a six of Bud Light for my father in law. He was going to come over for tacos, beer and football, but my wife never confirmed and I am stuck with it. Having been a religious Bud Light drinker for years, I decided to try one ( after several Samuel Adams Octoberfests, which are jusk OK in my hop-driven world, but I'd hoped to open some palates with them) and I was amazed at how much I hated it. I managed to guzzle most of it but gave up and had a big glass of water to get ready for a Modus. Being buzzed and content with delicious hops, I will now finish my obligatory sixer of Octoberfest beer in September, but really its only because I want to be able to drink my Modus and Big Eye tomorrow, these weather delays are killing my beer stock!! Oh yeah....... No.... BMC really doesn't cut it for me anymore, but I'll never dis anyone for liking them. Palates, wallets, and paradigms all have a role in beer drinking.

    Cheers!!

Good Lord, some folks make it sound like it is drinking poison. An ice cold Bud Light after mowing the lawn on a 90 degree day hits the spot.

I love a good adjunct once in a while. A Gansett does the job.

I can honestly say that I do not. If I'm in the mood for something on the lighter side, I'll usually shoot for a craft pilsner.

I'll sign off on this as well. I keep stuff like Pinkus Organic Pilsener, Weihenstephaner Lager/Hefeweizen, DFH Festina Peche, Prima Pils, etc. for uncomplicated drinking.

Since getting into craft I've only had BMC @ social gatherings with no other options. And even then not for any kind of buzz so much as to not appear too snobby (even though I am).

So does ice water. I'd much much much rather drink a Hottenroth, lower ABV and infinitely tastier.

I don't know that I'd say I have a craving per se, but we don't always want complexity and nuance. There's a place in the world for a good cold High Life.

Ordered a Stella at a bar with a decent craft selection the other night. Just wanted something pretty simple. Don't think I would ever verge into light beer territory though.

Fucking never. WTF is wrong with you people. A Pontiac Aztek or Wonder Bread Advocate? Get your stick on the ice folks.

I've been saved by an ice cold Bud. When I had it, in the right circumstances, it was the best beer in the world.
