I am headed to Brussels without a car for 36 hours. Not looking for much beta that has not been covered already in older threads. While in Vermont this weekend multiple people suggested bringing some VT IPA's and sliding one to your tour guide and cantillon or a bar tender. Is it worth stashing a few in my bag in hopes of getting some nice in return or not worth the effort? Any insight would help I leave tomorrow
Jean Van Roy was wearing a Hill Farmstead t-shirt at the brewery on Friday. I'm sure he won't mind at all if you bring him a couple Hill Farmstead bottles.
I love how this guy readily admits he's after rare loons. You should know what gift to bring Jean if it's whales you're after. Lots of people here know. Difference is we don't tend to abuse that knowledge.
yeah - I keep it simple at Loon HQ. "hey Frenchie! toss me 3 apricot and 3 brandy, Dont want any of the ordinary shit!". I find a direct approach works well - no need for bribes!
Should the effort not be worth it to share some great beer? Is it not about the love between two beer enthusiasts that makes it worthwhile? The moist, sticky, tender love that occurs when you slide your 12 inch oz slowly into his grasp, and squirt hot trade over his throbbing brewery.
