I was just at a big chain grocery store, buying lagunitas Maximus 22 for 4.99. The manager checked me out and when he scanned the price said, "wow that's expensive, must be good." It got me thinking, is that really that expensive? Have I just gotten numb to pricing? You tell me.

$5 for a bomber I presume? Jesus, I have dropped $35-40 on Bruery 750's and thought it was totally worth it... :slight_frown:

No, that is still a nice price, especially when you consider the style & format.

If he thinks $5 bombers are expensive I hope he never walks into a beer shop.

Passed on a bottle of Pliny for $30 in DC today. I'd love to try it, but damn.

I cant even get a lot of decent bombers for 5 bucks around here. A long time ago when I was a craft newb I went to a large liquor store and I checked the whole store to see how many bombers were 4.99 or less and there really wasnt a whole lot.

I definitely feel that way sometimes except for when it gets up to an exorbitant asking price.

Pliny is awesome, but fuck that noise. Pricing like that is just plain immoral.

You can buy it on line if your in an area that allows shipments. Forget the $30 nonsense, that's a 5X markup.

I would not say I am numb to the pricing but I now have the proper context in which to view the pricing.

Never tried Founders Breakfast Stout and I just dropped 4.99 on a 12oz single price is in the eye of the beholder if you see it, want it, and are willing to pay for it by all means buy it. there is my two cents

I hate beer hype price jacking! It goes for 5-6 bucks a bottle in the Bay Area. The crazy thing is that at some point someone will purchase it.

I hope he never posts on this website. He'd have a heart attack after reading two posts.

I'm definitely not numb to beer pricing. I've passed on some beers for being too expensive. I did however quickly rip open my wallet when the very nice girl at my local beer shop told me that I could get a 750 of Cantillon Classic for 15 bucks.

I am not numb, but very laid back towards pricing. Beer brewing and beer drinking are two hobbies of mine, and I do what I can to budget for these to be a part of my life. A $5 bomber is a good price for an 8.2% beer, imagine what that chump cashier would say if you bought a $12 bomber from FFF.
