Curious if this would get any bites, because I think it should. Obviously there are a low number of KBBS still out there, but these are similar #s, hype, etc.

    Does this have a chance?

Honestly the only way to find out is post an ISO:FT. If these releases coincided, perhaps you might find some takers but it has been several months and numerous kbbs has been opened, chances are slim. Good luck!

This actually sounds like one of the more reasonable deals, although like others said many have probably opened their KBBS or are saving it for who knows what.

You guys sound like you don't expect it to be released again. Is that the case?

KBBS will be. Not sure if DBD will ever be, and doubtful for any time soon I'd suspect seeing as Shaun loves to brew one offs or things every couple of years (and this beer took 2 years to make).

My guess is it will be much worse off after a year, considering it is a coffee centered beer. Also, by then a second batch could be released, which would TORPEDO the trade/resale value! Better get that puppy drank/traded quick!

There is such a thing as special release overload, where a brewery releases so many very small releases (<500 bottles) that critical mass of interest doesn't quite build. We see this with the myriad of Upright Sole Composition bottles that, to quote some PNW traders, "don't trade for shit." The same thing seems to be happening with Hill Farmstead: CD6 and the two M&C releases aren't really trading for much, even though the reviews are solid.

I won't go out and say that Double-Barrel Damon won't be a mega whale, but with two other recent HF BA stout releases, bourbon Damon and soon port Damon, not to mention the sour vurrients, I can see 'wale fatigue' setting in.

KBBS will be released again, most likely in a larger quantity in the future.

Knowing nothing, I'd say DBD should trade at least as high as KBBS, but as yeahnatenelson said above, there's definitely some special release burnout.

PS. The Upright Sole's are generally crazy good. I will be willing to foster any unwanted bottles in my home

People could be buying it to drink it too.

Please find me someone who's trying to trade CD6 in any quantity and isn't asking for much in return. I'll be super generous. I traded a Chocolate Rain almost straight up for a CD6 because I wanted it so badly

I didn't say they were being offered cheap; nobody is biting at the FT's.

Yeah there's probably a bit of distance between perceived and actual trade value.

The value might fall but the quality still has not dropped with recent HF releases. CD6 and Madness#2 were outstanding. Others have been great too. I opened DB Damon last Sunday and I don't think anyone will be dissapointed by this beer. So if stellar beers are being traded at sole comp level then that's insane. After having many SCs I've found that there are as many duds as there are good bottles. This is not the case with HF and is one of the reasons why I think the SC beers don't trade as well as people think they should. Same thing happened with Jackie O's.

I'm certainly not trying to make a quality comparison. My point is that there are so many releases that it's difficult to keep track of them all. Most breweries might have one or two special releases events. Some like Jackie O's, which you mentioned, might have one per quarter. Hill Farmstead has 6-10 per year. It's too much to keep track of.

I like what HF does, but I can't possibly remember what the difference is between all of the Civil Disobedience, Madness and Civilization, and Society & Solitude releases. Soon I won't be able to tell the Elaboratives apart, either. I'm sure others feel the same.

Tickers are, by nature, completionists. Many of the white whales of this hobby aren't necessarily regarded as being exceptional, but rather the most obscure and difficult to obtain beers from the most highly regarded breweries, the last boxes to check on the list of that brewery's oeuvre: Selectie C, The Pikkulintu Cantillons, etc. In the case of Hill Farmstead, there are so many beers that are so hard to come by that it does create a chilling effect in the beer trade community.

Some may chuckle at this argument, but listen to the traders complaining that the M&C's aren't 'trading for what they should,' considering that they were one bottle limit, <500 bottle releases.

    At least you get it...

Yes I do get it. I just don't think that it will be to the same effect as how Sole Comps and beers alike have become easier to trade for- because of the difference in quality. But maybe one day all HF will trade for KBS. I don't know. Even some of the regular bottles look more like special releases now and require bottle limits.
