This question has probably been asked before, but I can't find it in the threads.... What are the best affordable Belgian style beers? Golden Monkey has always been a regular optioin for me at $12/sixer, and recently I am able to get Matilda and Sofie in $10 mix sixers. Most recently I am really digging Brewer's Art Ozzy for $11 a six pack. I consider all of these high value buys for my modest budget. What others can I seek out? Thanks , Cheers!

I don't know if you'd consider Hennepin affordable, but since it is such a tasty beer, I think it is quite a deal. I believe it's like $9-$10 for a four-pack. Not the cheapest in the world, but again for the quality you're getting I think it's a smart buy.

Leffe Brune is surprisingly good, and surprisingly affordable- we pay like $10 around here.

Weyerbacher's Verboten is a very good Belgian Pale, and also in that price range.

Yeah I was surprised to find Leffe Brune here in NW Florida Publix stores for around 9-10 bucks. It's an exceptional Belgian brown.

Speaking of Leffe, do any other states carry anything other than the Blonde or Brune? Leffe Triple is actually pretty good too, and they have a huge lineup for Belgian beers.

Where I live, all five of those are only available at $15~17 for a 750 at EVERY shop, and I've NEVER been able to find any Belgian ales in four-packs or six-packs. You guys in the lower 48 are lucky.

The only afordable Belgian ales for me are ones brewed by Midnight Sun and Anchorage Brewing CO (I love them, though). That's the trade-off for living in AK, I guess.

Oh yeah, and I have to pay $11 for an 11.2 oz. bottle of Rochefort 10. I'm guessing that's a bit more than most people pay for that one?

I can get New Belgium Trippel and Abbey for around $8 for a six pack. Right now they are on sale for $6.99.

Unibroue beers are a crazy good value in Quebec.

That's probably the best answer. The Abbey (read: dubbel) I think has a very solid 4 rating around these parts.

At $8 here in the States (for me anyway), La Fin Du Monde is a great value for the quality.

Not to rub it in, but $5.99 after a 15% mix 6'er discount for me. Not bad for arguably the best readily available quad in the world.

Swweet! Keep em coming! I forgot about Verboten which I do indeed consider in the value category, and thoroughly enjoy. I also get Rodenbach for $ 15 a six pack, which although pushing it, I do buy fairly regularly and consider it economical. I'm going to keep an eye peeled for Leffe Brune, North Coast, and New Belgium, which I've seen, but do not believe have tried.

Unibroue and Ommegang are usually 12.99 a 4 pack and Duvel, Delirium, etc are usually 15.99+ ....

As are the other 4 packs - trois pistoles, maudite and don de dieu. Terrific value and underrated.
