I know this is a tall order, but I just popped open one of my final BB's and was wondering if there is anything similar available in the northeast. There are plenty of BA stouts and porters, but unaware of BA scotch ales.

I know that Blue Lobster up in Hampton NH is going to be bottling a port barrel aged Wee Heavy and will most likely be release Nov. 1st. Also if you can wait until November Backwoods Bastard will be back.

Aside from the one I mentioned, I have yet to see many, if any BA scotch ales.

But then again the central waters 1) doesnt make it up to the northeast, at least to my knowldge. 2) isnt as light in color or roast as Backwoods.

Traquair House Ale is an amazing Scotch Ale that is fermented in oak barrels. Not the same as bourbon barrels but still it's got a slight barrel quality to it. One of my top 10 beers.

I have yet to have it, but I hear Wulver from Thirsty Dog is pretty awesome.
Central Waters BB SA is good, but it isn't quite BW Bastard. I have yet to have anything as rich as Bastard. I look forward to November.

Tyranena Shaggin' in the wood is the only ba scotch ale I know of other than CW & backwoods. Though I'm not a huge fan of it.

Wulver, although not available in NE, is amazing.

I would also agree that the Blue Lobster Wee Heavy is worth a try. Not a BA scotch ale, but very good.

Shipyard BBA Double Scottish Ale would be my pick. Just saw it on shelves last week.

Barrel Aged Scotch De Silly is relatively easy to find.

Blue Lobster is releasing it in bottle format after they age it in Port barrels.

Also to the OP, this is why regional threads exist. Then you will not get recommendations for awesome barrel scotch ales from Wisconsin.

Backwoods Bastards isn't my favorite beer or anything but I thought it was very unique. I haven't found anything quite like it yet.
