    New Sour Sunday

Warm and damp in NE Florida. Managed to get the lawn mowed before the showers moved in. Goose Island is a relative newcomer to Florida, and I finally got to try Sofie today! I love sours and I love Brett beers, and this one didn't let me down. Very refreshing and well-blanced in my opinion. A great summer refresher (which still applies here in JAX, FL). Cheers, all!

    New Blonde Ale with Coffee

Fall has set in on this last day of summer in West MI. Cooler temps and gray skies.

Mowed the lawn, got some work done to start off the work week on the right note.

Not a bad beer from Odd Sides. Expected a mess considering the light style and coffee addition. Somehow it worked. Can't believe the label got approved. Kind of seems their new m/o.

    New American DIPA Sunday

    Greetings NBSers!

An absolutely beautiful day in the greater St. Louis area. After church, lunch and some errands, was able to enjoy a nice motorcycle ride. Home helping the wife with some work and taking a quick break to review this new beer.

Stone's 17 Anniversary DIPA. Different take on the brew that follows some familiar Stone trends. Hoppy!

    Cheers!

    New Legen-wait for it-dary Sunday
Brown Ale by Legend Brewing Company

Well, as FanofHefe noted, it was a beautiful day today (again) in the St Louis area, which is nice after the rain of last week. I am dreading the winter season coming, as all I have to get me to class/clinicals is my bicycle. Hopefully I can bribe one of my classmates to carpool in exchange for delicious baked goods. My whole day got off to an odd start when I somehow slept through my alarm by an astounding three hours. Oops.
On top of it, my landlady asked me to help her and her partner to move a trailer (by hand). They initially asked on friday, but kept putting it off as they were tired or had other things to do. We agreed to do it this afternoon, but my inquiries as to when they wanted to do it went unanswered, so I kept putting off the other things I wanted to do this afternoon (bike ride, shopping, homework, beer, etc) considering I had committed to help them and didn't want to have to bail at the last minute. Well... it's 6PM and I still haven't heard a peep from them, so I'm giving up on that and reviewing this beer instead, ha.

Now it's I get to watch recordings of some lectures that were cancelled last week (for mysterious reasons...), and review this beer. I'll probably start putting together a study guide for our test on thursday at some point, and the Seahawks game is such a blowout, it's not even that exciting. Good problems. Not to sound TOO conceited, but I'm kind of surprised that the most points we've allowed all season has come against the lowly Jaguars. Oh well. Hopefully they rest Marshawn for the whole second half, as I'm playing against him in fantasy this week. Happy NBS to all, and hope you're enjoying the weekend/have a good week lined up upcoming!!

I'm not much on this style, I know it is very popular in some circles, and this Saison Houblon Farmhouse Ale from Pike is very good.

Cool, cloudy and breezy here in the Columbia Basin, with they occasional dust squall blowing through. We have yet to see the first frost, and it doesn't appear to be in the forecast for this week either, but fall is definitely here.

I spent yesterday with wife and son sampling the Dunkle at the annual Deutschesfest over in Odessa. Another fine afternoon in the biere garten.

Seahawks are beating the stuffing's out of the Jag's so I opted to cut the grass this afternoon. We might be looking at the last 2 or 3 occasions for that chore this year.

    Until next week,

    Happy Trails!

    New English Pale Ale Sunday,

    Greetings NBS,

Checking in from a brief family vacation in Ogunquit, ME. It's been a great weekend of early fall weather and lots of good activities. It was raining a little earlier so we headed to Portland where I was able to visit Sebago Brewing. Then to stick with the local I tried this for NBS:

    New IPA Sunday
I'm in rare air today with my second offering. Still can't drink a hoppy beer from SN and not think "Torpedo". If this was the only one available from them I'd still drink it. Just doesn't seem to deviate from their "house" flavor.

Greetings from Louisiana and happy NBS to you all! I had an amazing weekend as my parents visited from Rhode Island, and of course, brought me a box of local beer per request. While here, we managed to fit a lot in, checking out the local NOLA and Abita breweries and trying some solid beers. For my NBS however, I tried an offering from back home, Foolproof's new Double IPA. Was hoping for a bit more, but this is good:

Cheers and I hope we all can enjoy a few more hours of relaxation before another work week!

In addition, also I reviewed this yesterday, but it was had in a plastic cup on the tour. You know I had to buy a six pack, just enjoyed another and really a solid Abita brew:

Definitely worth a try if you like you an oktoberfest style lager!

New American Saison Sunday (week 448)

Greetings NBSers from up on the ridge in Mid Hud Val NY. Worked this morning, then spent a day with friends doing that thing we all enjoy, what was that thing again? Oh yeah, drinking fine beer. This is one we started, but it is not so fine as most, no, make that all the others. Having another glass from the growler and wrote my review of it. I shall be as kind as I can to say I am not a fan of this beer. Hope you have a Great American Beer in your glass (cause I sure don't) Cheers!

I had two new ones from Pizza boy. Both in half growlers sent to me by an incredible BA Gengle.

The first was the West Shore IPA (double dry hopped)
An extremely well made IPA. It is very piney and grassy with a hint of citrus.

The second was Grapefruit in UR IPA.
This beer is a grapefruit bomb and I mean that in the best possible way.
You can smell the grapefruit from a couple feet away.
There is a great citrus taste.

These are the first beers I had from Pizza Boy but I will definitely be looking for more.
