Could someone please post the authoritative list on who should be allowed to attend this year's party? If I am holding a ticket that should belong to someone else, I will gladly give it up.

I am in no way saying that x,y,z should be allowed and that you, who stayed up late and got a ticket shouldn't have one. I'm sure every ticket owner is stoked for this event, and my posts aren't meant to take that excitement away from anyone. If you're being sincere I think it is very generous of you to be willing to give up your ticket - but my thing is that maybe 5050 could explore alternative locations such as the airport space they have (which has been a rumor the last 2 years). Obviously this event has grown in popularity and even though the restaurant/brewery is a beautiful location maybe somewhere else that can hold twice as many people would be a nice option and still be a fairly intimate night - just with even more new friends. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many great people at this event specifically.

I am very excited as some have mentioned here to attend this event. I will admit this is my first time and I am from out of town (clearly you can see Minnesota under my log). I love the craft scene and here in Minnesota we have beer fests, releases and such almost every other week and these all sell out even though half the fests are the same beers. It's enormous here, I have tried to see if I can travel to these various events around the country to see how it is there. I will admit I am only going to this even because my boss has a cabin (where he basically lives half the year) near Truckee and went out of his way to try and get me a ticket (I haz a killer boss  ). We have an event here called Winterfest, beerfest with 700 tickets in the MN History Center. Amazing event, I got lucky enough to get 4 tickets the last 2 years but it does sell out in roughly 2 seconds, this year they estimated 1.7 seconds. I agreee this sucks, but I have missed otu on a lot of epic events due to things like this. Great Taste of the Midwest for example. Best way to get tickets is camp out at a liquor store selling them, otherwise it's a lottery. To attend this release (50/50) I will be missing my favorite beer event here, Beer Geek Christmas. A local liquor store here opens up their cellar and pours samples (last year 2009 BCBS, 2009 BCBS with a blueberry randal, unreleased local beers, pre-released local beers, etc) and sells already cellared beauties. It's a wonderful fun event.

Regardless I am sure I will have a great time and will bring some amazing MN locals to share, even toying with a 4 year Darkness Vertical. Stepping off soapbox (also just got up from a 10 hour sleepfest after travelling ugh need moar coffee).

Edit: Forgot to add a point heh...

I too will refrain from comments on all the tickers, hoarders, and the current state of how things seem to be going, gotta add this though. Clearly, i couldn't refresh or type fast enough that morning, I was 59th online. Who deserves to go, how about all the people who would be excited to be there to drink the beer 50/50 is pouring. How many of you who got tickets like the beer enough to buy futures every year? How much of this thread has turned into "oh the bottle share", maybe those of us who but futures every year, and who truly are more excited about what the brewery will be pouring should have gotten first dibs. Im not saying it isnt cool that people bring beer to share, and actually an occasional sour to cleanse the palette in between was nice as the night goes on. Really, if you got tickets because all you want is to be at some huge bottle share, sell me your tickets, and I will let you pic a bottle from my cellar and take you to a bunch of bay area "epic" bottle shares. Ok, going back to cursing the new wave of douche bags that are really making me hate what craft beer has become. That said, heres how excited I am for this yrs eclipse, even though i dont have tickets, and refuse to add to what i hate buy paying what ever ransom price the scalpers will start auctioning them off for, I actually plan to show up friday to pick up my futures so i can drink a beer I love and wait every year for.

Entitled much? Your rant is what is wrong with craft beer. A sense of entitlement so big that you feel the way you like beer is better than the way others like beer. Sad.

To take it one step further the rant is misguided. While the bottle share is one aspect of what makes this experiance so awesome it is not the draw. Six plus hours of eclipse on draft in a casual setting with great hosts and great beer is what brings people. I'm sure a few are drawn by the special bottles released this year, but it's not a ticker issue. The event has become popular because Fiftyfifty puts on a great party.

clearly everyone missed the memo, my opinion is the only one that matters. Now I remember why i never post on forums. Well, here is some more fodder for everyone so let the flogging continue.
I really could care less how others enjoy their beer, I am excited for people who have never been before who are getting to go this year. I just had noticed in this thread, and personally found it disrespectful to the host, and saddening for us 50/50 fans, that the majority of the focus and talk was about what beers are going to be there that have nothing to do with 50/50. yes, thats great that people bring some other beer to share, and the spirit of bottle shares is awesome. Just felt like I should point out most people posting seemed to care less about the fact that they are lucky enough to be going to a party where some amazing ba stout is going to be poured all night long.
Clearly debate and writing were not my strong points in school, so as another poster had touched on, and really, here comes some great stuff to slam me over, this whole craft beer scence is getting to become something I personally dont care for. I am happy for all of the pub and brewery owners, and brewers who are finally reapingthe rewards of years of hard work. I have to admit though I miss the days when I could go to my local brewery with friends and enjoy some great beer without having to wait an hour for a spot to sit, having half the beer gone, bottle limits on what used to be shelf beer, while watching people be rude know it alls to the staff, leave crappy tips, then lurk the forms to watch people who have paid mules, wait, we are running drugs now, pay mules to stand in line to get their allotment of limited bottles. Only to watch them get traded away without ever even trying the beer. Guess I am just an grumpy old guy longing for the days before hoarders, tickers, commodity trades when it was still about drinking good beer over good conversation with good people.Instead of watching a table full of people share a beer, not speak word one to each other cause they are too busy slagging the beer on untapped, drain pouring whats left and moving on to the next.
Hopefully, as you all start to rip me apart, you will all take a second to think about your actions, and perhaps we can change this craft beer thing back to the better. Since Im not a hippy, and Im sure my sarcasm and valid points will not come across correct, i doubt it, so enjoy the flogging and remember, at the end of the night tip the 50/ 50 servers well. Actually, next time your at any bar, put down your phone, look your server in the eye, tip them well and remember they have spent all day dealing with a bunch of snobby entitled beer snobs like me.

Times they are a changing. Sorry you're missing out on tickets to the party, but I'll be glad to buy you a beer Friday when I come back to pick up my allocations. I'd probably feel the same way if I didn't get tickets, as I was ready to book a flight and head up Saturday morning if I struck out on line. I don't think that the Barr's, Todd, or the staff feel underappreciated by the people who attend the event (past or this coming year) and the success of the Eclipse series is likely fueling the brewery expansion. Regardless of how people express their excitement on here, it's excitement for the event that they're hosting to honor beers they've crafted. Let's all move past the negativity and focus on the excitement for the 2013 Eclipse release.

    Cheers!

Is this a bad place to ask if anyone has an extra ticket?? No sense of entitlement here, just want to join my friends and everyone else who appreciates good beer. I'll bring a Blabaer and plenty of other things to share.

^This is still the best post in the thread.

50-50 has a limited number of tickets and a lot of demand. They created a fair way to buy them online and in person for the locals or whoever else who were willing to line up. It's too bad some of you OGs missed out and don't like the people who got them, but that's life. Whining about the fact that people also mention that they will bring some other bottles to enjoy and share ON TOP OF THE ECLIPSE is just an excuse because you're bitter you missed out.

I personally have been buying 50-50 futures for the last few years and before that I was pre-ordering them from City Beer in SF. I've been to the brew pub a few times, but this is the first time I'm making it to the party and I'm psyched about it. The type of negative bullshit in this thread is taking away from my excitement and that is what annoys me about craft beer today.

I have made a ton of great friends since I joined this hobby. I never measured whether the process was slow or fast. Maybe the perceived "it's been slow" is a you thing.
