So I've been looking around for some more info about this beer, and Jackie O's in general, and am not having a ton of luck. Their website says it's seasonal, so I'm assuming a fall/winter release, can anyone confirm? I'm seen that the variants are released at the brewery, but how often? Thanks for the info!

they tend to do a bottle release 3/4 times a year, and each one is usually limited to 200-300 bottles, so its not super common stuff. they're probably aging a batch of it at any given moment but I'm not 100% sure if there is a 'set' time they pull it out for taps - I've been there at one time of year when they've had it on tap, and then gone back at that same time the following year & no luck. it is quite tasty though..

It seems to be brewed truly randomly and is available on tap from time to time throughout the year. It is also bottled (alone or in different barrel aged versions) a time or two each year (or maybe even more depending on the year). A few weeks ago the DA and a couple variations were all in tap on the brewery side, but I can never know what will be there until I walk in the door. I hope this is helpful.

They just released bottles of the Vanilla Rum variation last month. Limit of 1 per person and when they did a second round with a limit of 2, it went quick.

Yea, wish they would have kept the vanilla bean at 1 for the second sale. I got there Friday night around 8 ( I think, OU game was still on...) and I got shut out of bean in the second sale.

DA has no set season. Brad makes and releases it as wanted/needed. Yep bottle releases are 3-4 a year and even what they release is random and you can never be sure what and how much will be released. I actually prefer it that way. You are always in for a suprise at the releases.

No longer on draft at brothers drake. Not on draft at the brewpub. Oil of Aphrodite is on draft, vanilla and double walnut variants later this evening. I brew Dark Apparition when I can, wish it was more often. We currently have two bourbon barrels aging in our cellar.

How long do you expect the vanilla and double walnut variants to last?

Wish I could talk the wife into going down more often; I love Oil and all its variants. Brad, if you read this, when will the first Staff beer be ready to pick up??

Jackie O's open on Sunday for growler fills? I called the # but never got a definitive answer.. I'll be in Hocking Hills for a bachelor party this weekend and heading back to CLE on Sunday afternoon, would be swinging through Athens on my way.. love to grab a few growlers since i'm already going to be down that a ways.

Thanks for The info, I was down and snagged the growlers but the bartender wrote DA on the cap of my growler when I didn't see DA on tap, can you confirm that it is in fact Oil as stated on the board?
