I recently e-mailed Bells about some old Two Hearted on the shelves.
Not only did they get back to me, they sent me a bunch of swag!
A couple of nice pint glasses, lots of coasters, and stickers for each of their beers. Totally above the call of duty IMHO. I love collecting stickers I put them on my instruments.

Anyways, just wanted to express my admiration for a great brewery that just got better in my eyes.

But in all seriousness Bell's is awesome.

I have some old Bell's Christmas Ale in my fridge. I wonder if they'll send me some free stuff. :astonished:

CSB time...I got an "off" six pack of their porter. I sent them an email with the batch number to give them a heads up. They had a local rep hand deliver a fresh sixer of the porter to my front door. Unbelievable. Customer service taken to 11.

Does anyone know of any other breweries that have customer service like that also?

I recently emailed O'so (here in WI) asking about availability of Lupilin, they answered immediately, then contacted their distributor who emailed me and asked where I wanted to buy it so they could ensure that store gets the first deliveries sent out. I thought that was pretty cool of them.

What does Bells consider old for Two Hearted? My local Hyvee had cases of Two Hearted with March 2013 bottle dates.

Bell's lists the shelf life of all their beers on their website. Two Hearted is I believe 6 months so those would be out of date

why are we complaining to the distributors/brewery and not the people who aren't rotating or returning or pulling old stock?

    just to get free stuff?

I would give a nod to Cigar City for comparable customer service. I couple years ago I purchased a few BA Big Sounds, some of which were infected. CCB sent me a box of swag including a snifter, pint glass, key chain, and stickers. They also included 2 (how many bottles I had) certificates good for another BA release.

Fast forward 1.5 yrs to the most recent Brandy Hunahpu release. I have since moved to Charlotte, but left my certificates with a friend to redeem for me if needed. He walked in during one of the 'secret' Brandy Hunah release days and redeemed them. They had already sold their allotment for the day, but the guy pulled some out of a case in the back, no questions asked.

    There's a reason I'm such a CCB homer:wink: Really, really good people.

Paul Phillipon, owner of Duck Rabbit, contacted me and within a week I had a box filled with excellent DR schwag. The mini snifter I got in that big box of many things is still my favorite glass.

Funny, if I had known this I would have emailed them about the damn Bells Special Vanilla Stout or whatever they called it that was over a year old I accidently bought off the shelf. Didn't taste bad but the vanilla wasn't very noticeable and it was very thin.

Don't want to spend time searching for the threads, but Boulevard and AleSmith have also been cited for going above and beyond in terms of customer service.

Bell's is great, I feel very privileged that they represented most of my gateway craft beers.

That was very nice of them! This just reassures me as to why I keep buying their product.

On a side note, I emailed Firestone about some Double and Union Jack that I found at a local store with dates over a year old. Unfortuantely I have never heard back from them.

I see someone will be making an email distribution list full of breweries in the near future.
