If by "original line" you mean the line to get inside the gates, if it is run like last year's DLD, there will still be a line, but it won't be as long as the original line to get inside, no. However, after getting inside, there is a good chance that the 12-1 PM time will have a hefty number of people in the allocations line due to the B group folks entering the queue along with those in the A group.

Quite frankly, if you want to show up and grab the beer, get in line at 4 PM or after 6 PM. Later in the day the place is pretty much 'cleared' out (still a good number of people but plenty of space to move around) and that could be the case even more this year what with the weather being what it looks like it will be on Saturday.

It's 60 degrees, drizzly, and by California standards... FREEZING.

Gotcha and good info. Do they let B tickets purchase in the C slot normally? I've never tried that. Just curious.

Group A tickets can pick up their allocation anytime after 10 AM.
Group B tickets can pick up their allocation anytime after 1 PM.
Group C tickets can pick up their allocation anytime after 5 PM.

Did they make an announcement for everyone to hear that CBS was on tap or did it just show up? Cuz I might enjoy a pour of CBS

While it would be great if all groups could get the allocation in their designated times, this is logistically very difficult. If you are in Group A, you do not become ineligible to pick up your allocation at 12:01 PM. The different times for each group is a way in which FFF tries to handle what otherwise would be more than 2K people waiting in line all at once to get their allocation.

    Re: tents --
Someone will drive by FFF on Friday night and report back on whether or not they have the circus tents set up. This will obviously impact how the event runs... I suspect they WILL have tents. I suspect the earlier "tents the same as last DLD" is referring to "You can not set up tents of your own." If it's raining and there are no tents, the PUB is going to f-ing SUCK. No one will EVER give up a seat. That will be utterly lame. And a ton of people will cram into the brewery / concert area to stay out of the rain, so that will sort of suck too. BUT, people will LEAVE EARLY, and the guest taps will be GLORIOUS by comparison to last year. Last year's nice weather meant that it was crowded all day. People will soldier on through the rain for hours, but I suspect that by like 3 or 4 most of the A and B people will fade. If there aren't tents, this could be particularly interesting.

    Re: folding chairs --
Don't expect to be able to bring them in. I saw people at XV told that they had to stow them. But there were plenty of them in the line, and I wouldn't hesitate on that count, if you're coming early. Same with coolers. I am TEMPTED to bring a grill, because I know I'd be done with it by 9 AM, and just stow it, but I've decided that's possibly a pain in the ass. They said no grills at XV, and the front of the line had one or two grills... I don't remember the powers that be complaining at all. But it's just not worth being a pain in anyone's ass.

I was also thinking about grabbing some kind of canopy tent type thing to keep a handful of people out of the rain.

Instead, I bought a shitload of rain ponchos from Bass Pro Shop for $2.99 each. We're gonna do this "deadliest catch" style. If anyone needs one, BM me. They're all size "giant fatass wookiee" so don't ask for petite. $3 plus a sip of whatever deliciousness you're pouring at that moment, and possibly a hi-five. I will do another Bass Pro run tomorrow by 10:00 AM, and they're cheap and it's no inconvenience for me, so that's the cutoff.

I would not plan on setting up a tent or canopy or rain-shelter of any kind in the actual line. Not based on any specific information, but because there's every possibility that they will tell you to break it down, and if that's your only rain protection, you will be totally miserable. That would suck butts.

Thought the same thing. Plus I saw an "early" list last week that had them listed. Damn.

Oh, and regarding the tents like the XV event, according to 3F's twitter feed, there will not be tents. They said same as last DLD. Not sure if they will change their minds because of the rain, but I wouldn't expect it. It wouldn't be the first rainy DLD.

Who knows... that list isn't official so maybe they will still be there. That site just added Founders within the last 15 minutes so it's obviously still in flux for whoever is gathering that info.

It would be the first rainy DLD where there was no tailgating and no folding chairs allowed onto the grounds, though. So that could be interesting.

Very true, I guess I/we should take it with a grain of salt and just wait until we actually get in the grounds or get an official blast from FFF.

I don't think there will be "no" tailgating, but rather not as insane tailgating as in '09 or '10. There were still a decent amount of people who hung out on the outside of the grounds last year (my group included) and nobody seemed to mind. Just don't be ridiculous about it if that's the plan going in.

They have tents every year. Question really is if they will be as awesome as the XV tents or are usual DLD tents.

    exactly

good point. I should have specified. from what I understand, it will be like previous year's DLD, as opposed to the circus tents of XV.
