I have an extra Damon and your offer seemed more than fair to me. Was tempted to PM you. I happen to have lots of stouts in the cellar and have been into sours and saisons much more lately so passed... Good luck

How many bottles of Damon were available? Wasn't it for sale for the past two weeks with 300 being reserved for the second release?

1500 bottles total. It was on the shelf at 2 per for a week or so before the release.

You aren't off, but locals who went and have multiples are probably holding onto them or trading them to regular partners.
Just look at the volume of ISO's, if you want to stand out and get it done, you need to go far above what is 'fair' or 'worth it' IMO.

This is a completely reasonable offer. Maybe try again this weekend, I'd be surprised if someone doesn't bite, especially since people were able to get multiples depending on when they went.

1500? My offer is ridiculously lopsided in the Damon holder's favor. Now I know why I'm not an active trader.

My son's name is Damon so it would be neat to keep the vertical going but holy fuck. He has a twin brother. Thank Christ his name isn't Atrial Rubicite, BA Abraxas, or Mexican Cake.

You are not off at all based on rarity. It's just about finding the right trader who wants those bottles.

Also, maybe try reposting your trade offer again. A lot of Damon owners were a bit.....busy....at 11:41 AM yesterday.

    This.

But I guess this post accomplished the same thing. You will probably have to find someone who came in the weeks before though, since limit 1 yesterday on Damon doesn't make one eager to trade it that didn't come up before.

You should know in this forum that bottle count now has as much to do with trade value as taste does - almost nothing.

Bottle count counts (ha) but damon is released annually, something to consider.

Didn't you know? HF is really hard to get to, and their beers are the best ever and oh yeah, they're worth 8x their actual values.

I think you are right (I stand corrected).
But we have seen it made before and will likely/hopefully see more of it made in the future.

The bbvd beers aren't well known. I have them, and do not expect to get anything for them. Not anything that I'd be willing to ship them out for at least. PVW BM overshadowed that whole release. Just like everyone is all about K13 and somewhat Grande Negro now. For good reason, those beers are incredible. The BA wee heavies could be great, and the other BMs are almost as good as Pappy. Everyone knows Damon. If it was M&C1 you'd have no problem.

I saw your offer at the time, and I thought it was more than fair, but didn't think it would get done easily.

After flying to Burlington and completing the easy 2-hour drive to HF, I am impressed by people who have the balls to say this with a straight face. I know you're speaking illustratively, of course.

That being said, I haven't had an issue trading for their growlers. People seem very fair about those.
