Anyone know BA Xtent?

I'm in the same situation. I texted him last week and he's been on a long business trip that got extended.

I'll text him again tomorrow.

 

More or less the same situation here, however I have had success corresponding with him via text. He also had his wife ship out the primary bottle from our trade last week in order for it to arrive in time for a buddies birthday this week. OP, if you don't have his phone number, shoot me a message and I'll get it to you.

 

Apologize for my lack of being able to log in and respond.
Currently going through inbox to any I am in the middle of a trade with.
Been in contact with a few via text messages.

Back in town and getting things boxed up, will have boxes out this week that do not include Alpines.
If the trade includes Alpines it will have to go out early next week due to the brewery closing before I get off work on weekdays.
Will make an Alpine run on Saturday and be back to normal again.
Unexpected travel kind and a move all in the past two weeks have really threw a wrench in my normal trade flow.

 

So to make a long story short I had posted a thread months ago when DDG was coming out about how people kept agreeing to make trades with me and then backing out. The this guy comes out and tells me how horrible that is and that he wants to make a trade with me. We agreed on the trade in September. He constantly disappears, make up some type of excuse of where he's been and then comes back saying that he can ship "this week", etc. and then I hear nothing again until I contact him and play the waiting game over again. We repeat this process over and over. Usually after I don't hear back from him I notice that he has in fact been active on Beer Advocate without replying to my messages. We exchanged addresses back in September. He hasn't stolen my beer but I would love for everyone to know so that they can avoid dealing with this guy in the future. I've never gone through this long dragged out waste of time before with anyone. Cheers everyone.

Yep. Well everyone add Xtent to your list of people to avoid.

 

That would be a mistake. Jared is the man.

He did run into a lot popping up work wise right at that time, but he was happy to communicate whenever I texted him and he kept me up to date the whole time after the first text. Communication is important, and if he was a bad trader, he would avoid the texts I sent to the phone number he gave me willingly.

Having said all that, perhaps he just didn't want to deal with you anymore? That wouldn't surprise me at all.

 

If he were the MAN he wouldn't have this thread and the past thread FULL of people who have had bad experiences with him. It's cute though that you're in here defending your bosom buddy.

 

Where is this past full of people? All I see are the three above, including myself, that were all trading with him at the same period of time. Jared completed the trades, and I can't speak for the others, but definitely made it up to me. It was my first trade with him, and I would trade with him again in a heartbeat. Shit happens, and he communicated. That's all someone can ask for.

It's cute that you want to pretend that you're a quality trader.

Like I stated. Perhaps he just didn't want to deal with you anymore. You aren't out any beer. Sounds like nothing was really agreed upon. It's a negative post with nothing substantial backing it up.

 

It totally was agreed upon, but thanks for the inside information expert. Either he doesn't have the time to be agreeing to trades or he lacks the cojones to tell someone he's backing out of the trade. Either way, as I've stated, I would avoid trading with him at all costs.

 

Are you blind, and did you not see all of the OTHER people that had bad experiences with BA Xtent? If you've had a good trade with him, congrats, you appear to me the minority around here. Carry on..

edit: and let's say your trade finally happened.. from the sound of it, his communication skills and lag times are ridiculous. I would not be happy if I had this experience with him (as others appear to have had).

Well with me the communication was HORRIBLE. I would go over a week before hearing from him and it was always something along the lines of "I'll get it out this week/weekend" and here were are in November. First person I've had that issue with. Either way I'm not interested in the trade anymore obviously but wanted others to know my experience.
