I think my first was probably hop stoopid by lagunitas. I had just gotten into really hoppy beers and when I tried that it blew my mind and I went from enjoying hoppy beers to loving them.

That's a tough one. First one that really made me go "Man that's good" and go out in search of good beer was Weihenstephaner.

First one that actually "blew" my mind was Rochefort 10. I honestly didn't know beer could taste that good.

I will say, i get that feeling quite often. Especially when I have the pleasure of drinking an amazing brew.

probably Black Butte porter or Il Vicino's Wet Mountain IPA. Both opened my eyes to craft beer.

Natty Ice. I had no idea anything could taste so foul.

Old Rasputin, though honestly Black Tuesday floored me in a way that even that first sip of Old Rasputin didn't.

Chimay Blue...I hated beer before, I hadn't tried craft though. After that Hunahpu's blew my mind wide open and is now my favorite beer:slight_smile:

The first easily obtainable "mind-blown" moment happened with fresh Hop Stoopid.

Then after I had been involved in craft beer for about a year it happened again, with Rochefort 10.

Probably Lagunitas Little Sumpin Wild. But most recently Sculpin floored me; set the bar for IPAs forever.

Even though I am really new to the beer scene..I had a bottle of Schneider Aventinus tonight and it was incredible...it definitely will be on a re-buy list for a longgg time to come.

Heady Topper. Every time I get a chance to get some the bouquet of aromas coming out of it and then the taste both amaze me. Nothing I've had has really done that, although I have had some other amazing ones that were a tier lower like Dreadnaught and KBS. PtE is probably a close behind 4th.

Pliny the Elder. Easy. It was even a 3 month old bottle and it was the first thing like it I had ever had.

Aass Bock, 1982. I might as well quote myself from another thread lest I sound like a broken record (you folks know what records are, right? ):
