Is now on tap in the tasting room in Bend. I gather kegs are on their way to different accounts in Oregon and Washington as well, as I just noticed that it's listed in the coming soon line-up over at the Horse Brass.

    Cheers!

I had a $10 growler of this from the brewery back in May. For some reason I thought opening it up at midnight after a long day of brewery crawling would be a good idea.

    There's still 44% of a keg at Bailey's!

Yep. Woke up the next morning with absolutely zero trace of a hangover and ran five miles.

On tap in Salem at b2 and Franklin's Bottle Shop. No growlers at b2. Not sure about Franklin's, but they were doing fills last time they had it. Growl Movement in Keizer had it yesterday, but they were doing fills, and the keg blew in 59 minutes.

This beer is starting to rival PtY. Not only taste-wise, but availability-wise as well. We mustn't let the secret escape the PNW!

General consensus of I lot of people I talked to at the younger event I attended (where notorious was on tap as well) was that notorious is the better beer!

I've never had them side-by-side (unfortunately), but I'm in the "Notorious is better" camp.

Wait. No I'm not. Notorious sucks! Stay away from the Notorious!

On tap at the Eastside in Olympia.

Also I think it is being tapped this weekend at Engine House #9 in Tacoma.

Had them both in the same day for PtY earlier this year and preferred Notorious, but not by a huge margin.

I still prefer younger, but not by all that much, and at least for notorious, I don't have to stand in line for a couple of hours to get a single glass.

For those who really want to get their hop fix on in PDX, the Horse Brass currently has notorious, green death, chubby bunny and PtE all on tap. Last night I had a glass of Pliny after notorious and green death, and the pliny almost tasted lame by comparison... almost...

Except those beers will taste far from what the brewers actually intended if drinking them at Horse Brass, so I will pass.

I have experienced the phenomenon you are talking about though. A glass of PtE after PtY usually tastes like Budweiser

I have to agree about horse brass, been open since the 70s and haven't cleaned the lines since.

Notorious can easily compete with PTY, and it's not a pain in the ass trying to get a growlerette (impossible w/younger) or glass of it.

Better than PtY, not sure. Definitely a discussion though...

Shrug. The Green Death wasn't as fresh tasting as the version I had at the hop fest, but it was still pretty tolerable. Glasses of elder at the HB have always tasted just fine to me. As for notorious, I've had it at several different venues around town, as well as up in Bend on Sunday, and the version I had at the HB was every bit as good as the stuff I had elsewhere.

Maybe my palate isn't as discerning as yours, but I've never had a problem with spoilded or "off" beer at the HB.

This most recent batch of Notorious is superb. Best ever. They really have this beer dialed in.
