Getting married imminently, and our venue mandates that it provides the beer. So that means we have a very limited list of options, and we only get to pick three:

Beer #1 : Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold (non-negotiable--it's the local brew and a personal favorite--counting lucky stars that it's on The List)

Beer #2 / Beer #3 : Two picks from the following list:

    Bud
    Yuengling
    Harp
    Stella Artois
    Heineken
    Bud Light
    Miller Lite
    Amstel Light

(I'm presenting The List without comment. But it's a big wedding with a diverse crowd--maybe some guests would be turned off if we didn't have Bud Light/equivalent on offer. Who knows?)

So we want to make the best decisions possible! And to cover as many bases as we can, without duplication. So I'm turning to the BA boards, obviously.

(And no, I won't be able to sneak in a case of Hopslam or bribe the manager into serving a Belgian white.)

Just trying to do the best with what we got. We would be very interested in your opinions!

I think Stella is the obvious #2. As for number #3, I don't envy that decision.

    Congrats!

I recently went two hearted, bud, and bud light at mine. Sadly not everyone drinks good beer.

Definitely Yuengling I'd say, then you gotta go Bud Light or Miller Lite, not sure if your guests have a preference there.

Yeungling and then Stella (or maybe Heineken). Those three should satisfy everyone (the beer drinkers anyway).

The BMC crowd will think you went high class.

First of all, congrats. As a newlywed myself, my main advice is to run while you still can  .

Provided you value your own wealth of life experience over the words of some weird dude from the Internet, I vote yeungling and Stella.

Best of luck/dear god help you.

I would go for Stella for the second -
the third, I would hold my nose and go with Bud Light or Miller Lite - you would know your guest list to know which would go better for them.

I'd go Stella and Bud Light. Who's gonna complain, right?

If the beers are on tap I would say Stella and Yuengling. If they are in bottles, I would say Bud Light and Amstel Light. Not sure why that matters to me but it does. I personally would rather drink Miller Light than Bud Light but Bud Light seems to be the most popular (had similar choices for my wedding and it was a large wedding so I went with the more popular Bud Light).

Put a couple of boxes of cigars on the bar......always a good idea.....and it will at least drown out the BMC taste for the good beer drinkers.

Just had mine and has this decision....go miller and Amstel. People will go liquor before Amstel.

Gotta say, to have the best chance of pleasing everyone, I would ad Stella, and one of the last three choices on the list.

If it were me picking; Miller Light and Stella. I think one of your options should be limited to the light beers, I would think anyone who liked good beer would just be drinking the great lakes selection anyway, so the other choices should be olive branches to your non-craft drinking friends. Congratulations.

Yuengling>Stella unless you're interested in the fanciness angle. Is Yuengling still an exciting find for most people in Ohio or is it pretty common now?
Bud or Miller Lite is probably a necessity unfortunately.

Bud light....I don't think you can get away from a BMC at a wedding.

The last beer comes down to Stella and Yuengling....I'd go Yuengling personally, but either would be fine.

I would also be packing a flask of Maker's Mark!
