Don't all breweries use new kegs every time they put beer in them? :astonished:

I don't think Pizza Port does any of the things you claim they do. They will swap out a clear Pizza Port growler for a dark one, however.

Hmm I am trying to back track on what was I was told during barrels of summer but I do not remember the convo having to do with anything clear... I don't own any clear glass (besides mini fermenters) so I could care less. I was under impression that you can bring in any growler and swap for fill. Swapping a pp for another pp makes sense however, I immediately thought wtf you going to do with random brewery glass... But thinks that they might wait for more breweries follow suit and fill any vessel that can be sealed tight and re-labeled with a zip tie, punch card, shrink wrap, etc. This was at PPSC so maybe Ryan can chime in.

The marriage between brewery and growler nonsense has become a pain in the neck and Alpine's issues last week with running out of growlers should be a wake up call to any brewery that is tired of spending money on custom orders and taking up space with stocking inventory.

Create-sell-share...in that order. Curb thy hurdles.

PP swapped out my Growler with a new one that had the Bressi Ranch location listed on it.

Alpine once again continues to show how big of asshats they are and unappreciative of customers they are. I for one think everyone should boycott them starting this week over their poor treatments of customers.

Oh yeah, if anyone wants to get a beer I will be at Alpine Friday or Saturday.

Would be worth the drive down if I knew they would still have when I got there. Hoppy Birthday growler fills too.

I love the smell of a s#!tstorm on a Tuesday afternoon. Clearly this is a "reward the locals and diehards" release.

I'm curious to see how long this will last.

Any one expecting Alpine to adopt [some business practice that they think is better] is going to be disappointed. That's not what they do. Alpine is Alpine and that's just the way they operate; we tolerate it (and even learn to like the quirks) because they produce Nelson, Duet and Expo.

As for those Great bottles, Alpine putting a release out on little-to-no notice seems to work better than announcing it with any fanfare at all since Expo was around for what, three or four days last time when they didn't do an announce?

I agree I think the low-key announcement is the way to go. It's possible some of us get burned on some releases, but I feel like these things tend to work themselves out in the end. I'd rather not be part of the hoopla of some of the major releases. That being said, sometimes it's fun, and I don't mind (i.e. the DDG release was kind of cool, even if the online ordering was chaos). With Alpine though, it's such small quarters, and the parking can be so difficult, that I'd prefer not to endure that headache (but of course I always will because it's amazing beer, and I'm insane).

At any rate, I'm not one to complain too much about how they do things. They seem to be nice people, and they brew good beer and charge reasonable prices for it.

Even better, this year they decided to bottle Great in previously used bottles donated by customers!

I, for one, will have a hearty laugh when I get a bottle of Great that has the words "Green Flash" embossed on the side.

I think they bottled a lot more Expo than this batch of Great, though.

I heard you had to give a detailed account of how the town of Alpine was founded in order to get into a lottery to be able to show your Alpine only driver's license to maybe get a non-infected barrel aged beer from Alpine.

Everyone else has to go to bed.
