Too bad there's no beer lovers near where you live to share with.

When I find myself spending more time on the ISO/FT forum than others spend on Facebook / Twitter speaks volumes. Oh and in the last 2 days I have bought 2 glasses online, 12 total beers from the store and set up 4 trades...

Hi, my name's Kirby and I have a problem

Guilty. Gives an excuse to have friends over for a beer tasting night too clear out some of the inventory.

Nope. I buy it then drink it then buy some more. Hoarding is weird to me.

I love buying beer. I can't explain it. I have far less than you, OP, but still about 40-50 that aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Most of my inventory are "ageable" brews; we take care of the "quick-to-spoil" beers as soon as we can.:sunglasses:

I find myself buying beer every week now that I'm back to working full-time. It's usually only a six pack and a bomber each time I buy beer. I grabbed a beer tonight and thought 12 beers left in the fridge was too little. Going to stop at Total Wine after work tomorrow to stock up.

Seriously, these days I don't feel like my week is complete unless I walk into one of my local shops and pick up some bottles of fine craft brew.

I just like going to stores and looking around. Sometimes I know I won't buy anything and still like to just go in stores and look for 30 mins-an hour then walk out with nothing. I'm strong...I can do it.

Yeah,I'm screwed too....always buy cellerable stuff to put in my cellar.......but its built too and I can't stop. Trying to only buy 2 of anything good as opposed to the 3-4 I've always felt compelled to buy is the first baby step I'm taking.......gotta stop!

Common problem. I ended up with over 1000 UNIQUE brews. That was 2.5 years ago. I decided to drink at least one every day, no matter how special, how whale-status, how expensive, whatever. Now I have 5. Just takes dedication and a healthy liver. Check my reviews if you don't believe me. I think I have over 1200 since May of 2011.

Oddly enough I've lost over 93lbs in doing so. Maybe I should eat something eventually?

This thread makes me feel more comfortable with my "addiction" as well. I'm always getting excited, whether traveling or visiting the local liquor when I get to have that "hey! I've beer looking for that" moment.

I'm at around 150 bottles now and like others have mentioned, I love using it as an excuse to have friends over and share the experience of new and interesting. Such a great (expensive) hobby!

I do but then if I really like the beer I usually go back and buy a 4 pk. Sometimes in Nj, some brews are hard to get so it's either get them when you see then or it's gone. Bombers are what really kill me cause it's the same thing. Usually get 2 of a limited release but the first bomber lasts for a day or two pushing back the consumption of the other 12 oz and then the next bomber sits as you wind up picking yet another new brew.

I have fairly successfully broken the addiction of buying and having too many beers in cellar. Was over 400 at one point. Down to near 100 now, with the help of friends.

Holy shit. Is this conversation for real? For a few years now I started this habit of going to the store and buying a couple of beers at a time. My wife wonders why I don't buy sixers. I am not as into the buzz(although that comes as a bonus:wink:) as much as the act of buying a new brew to savor. Once I drink one and leave the others in the fridge, I want to save the bottlesi didn't drink and go buy some different brews to try. Now that i know there are others like me out there, I won't feel guilty any longer. Cheers to new brews!

200 beers sounds like a good time! I was tired of hearing about how the beer was crowding the fridge so instead of buying less, I got a beer fridge. I make frequent trips to the shed now...

    All too familiar.
Toward the end of the summer I told myself I'd start drinking down my cellar. That worked for all of 7 days. Cellar back near capacity, beer fridge full. FML (f my liver).

Who can deny a few bottles of Warlock on the shelf or a sixer of Sucks when you know it will be gone for another year! You don't have a problem, you have a hobby that happens to get you loaded!
