The GGA makes sense, i hear they have a ton of it.

But who knows...rumors are, well, rumors and are often false. Love the speculation though!

I tried the GGA (in unfinished form) yesterday when one of the workers brought some for the bartender to try. I asked if I could try it and he let me. It was pretty damn good in the form it was in, very boozy but thats expected since its so fresh but man do those flavors play off each other.

Cant wait for the final product. I love Gourd and the rum brings it to a whole other level

I can't see GGA hitting distro, CCB has never done this with their BA beers. LIL was a collaboration with Mikkeller as was Swinging Harry that is why they went to distro, and also why it wasn't an El Catador release or even an exclusive purchase like 110K+OT 6 was. Could be wrong and maybe they will start to distro their BA beers, but I don't see it happening, since that is why they created El Catador.

Well, I'm pretty sure life is like was brewed and barrel aged at CCB as well. I think that shows they can swing limited distro BA beer production. Also, I think I remember hearing that an entire batch of GG was brewed just for barrels. Depending on what size batch it's very possible it'll go distro

I think someone mentioned that any beer that went to El Catador would definitely not be distro'd (this true?) if it is true... and they made a ton of GGA, i see no way it wouldn't be distro'd b/c there is no way they would have it an El Catador release, and then have THAT much volume left over and have it limited to the fridge in the brewery.
So my guess, based on everyone saying it was a full batch of GG... it'll be distributed and Don Gavinos will be the bottle. I love the speculating... but its driving me bananas. I want GGA so bad.

They did do a batch of GG just for the barrels because they had to raise the ABV so it could be stable in the barrels. How much, not a clue. I 'heard' 4500 bottles

I am traveling to Tampa for a couple days (oct 13-15) for work. Anyone in the area know if CCB is going to release anything between now and then? The only non-seasonal I saw on their site that's for sale is the Scotch Ale and the Carribean IPA (is this good?). I'm staying about a mile from the brewery. I'll also be in Orlando Oct 15-16 for trades.

Anyone want to meet up for an in-person trade? I live in Chicago and have access to A LOT of awesome midwest beers. FFF"s, Revolution, Half Acre, Founders, Bells, many more in my cellar. Message me. I've love to get my hands on some Hunapu or Zhukov's stout.

    most credible sources aren't credible.

we brewed the Good Gourd base beer with pumpkin and all that then moved to rum barrels. we didn't put any spices on it till we moved it to the tanks where it sits now.

Looks like they're moving some barrels into bright tanks, so a release should be just around the corner. The timing would be awesome for gga.

It's pretty low resolution. Don't think we'll be able to read it.

    Unless... *takes off shades*

Zoom... Enhance... Right there... The text says these barrels are filled with the tears of non-members!

Compared to the 'marked' GGA barrels on the cover photo of the FB page, they dont look like the same barrels. They just seem too clean. Maybe its new Oak barrels for Sour Guava to go into for the Big Guava

Don Gavino's Big Guava is in Chardonnay barrels, not new oak. But maybe those are chardonnay barrels as I'd imagine they wouldn't be as discolored as bourbon or brandy.

Sounds a bit salty, although I see a resemblance to Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard.

As a few people posted on the facebook, the bottle in the background does not appear to match the GGA label that was released. Actually looks like the Big Sound label to me.

Yeah that's a big sound label in the background. So that doesn't mean the ones below it aren't GGA...

Might be a strategically placed Big Sound to throw the world of beer nerds in disarray!
