I love the tasty bombers as much as the next guy but I'm going thru a time where money saving has to happen. I love a good malty beer, brown ale being most common in my fridge lately. I plan on having Narragansett Cream ale as a good budget staple for the next while any other suggestions?

Most of lagunitas stuff is a good deal but not necssarily budget prices.

I can typically find New Belgium and/or Boulevard on sale around here for $6-$7 a six pack.

Of course Lagunitas and Sierra Neveda are great values, and if you're into Belgians then Unibroue's beers are very well priced without compromising quality.

I was going to say Lagunitas as well, great value for great beer. If you're talking bargain basement macro budget prices, I'll go for Corona (which really isn't THAT much cheaper).

Yuengling Porter, Lord Chesterfield Ale, Genny Ice and Ballantine Ale are my budget or "too broke to buy the good stuff" beers. Here in Canada I've been partial to Labatt's 50 Ale...to the chagrin of my friends who label it "old man's beer". Hey, I likes what I likes.

Maybe not truly "budget," but I can get a bomber of Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye for $3.99, so that's definitely bang for your buck. And cases of Sierra Nevada and Stone run about $23-$27 at Costo -- about a buck a beer qualifies as "budget" I suppose.

Lagunitas Imp Stout, Lucky 13, HS. Maxmius $3
    Old Rasputin $7.99/8.99
But right now the .99 cent 24oz Genny Cream would be the cheapest go to in my neck of the woods.

Around this time of year, Trader Joe's begins selling its holiday beers, some of which are brewed by Unibroue -- now those are a true bargain.
