It's not a shop owners preference either. If he gets 2-3 cases of anything especially bombers he's stuck, and usually has to allocate, and have a list. I know of only one that puts it on the shelf here first come, but with a limit. the others are back room only. The way it is, I would guess most vendors would love to have 30 cases of KBS instead of 3-4 cases.

In a perfect world the bottle limit would be two, one to drink fresh and one to age, given that it's good for aging, or just two to drink fresh.

For extremely limited stuff I have no problem with a one bottle limit, I hate getting to a store that has no limits and being shut out because some a-hole decided he needed 6 bottles for himself. That and the people here they've said their allotment should be 3 with the third bottle to trade. I shouldn't have to miss out on something good because you need trade fodder.

Do I like to see it? Generally no. But, as long as the store makes it available to everyone and isn't gouging, it can have its place. Plus, sometimes, i'd rather spend $5 or $6 on a single rather than $20 - $30 on a 4-pack.

KBS in Mass is scarce. Several stores this year only got a few 4 packs. Limit 1 and they sold out quick like within 90 mins. I support 1 per in this situation. Also DBD since there was only 1 barrel :-)

So here we go. This is the world that is devolving around me. My local just sent out a message that they got Zombie dust in. Cool, I'll run down there and get some. I drop everything, run down to the local real quick. I wasn't planning on making a trip today. I walk in and what do I encounter? 12 ounce bottle limits. Yeah, right. You have to be an idiot college kid to support 12 ounce bottle limits. I can understand a limit on sixers...I get it that. But this is one of the most asinine, arrogant marketing ploys I've ever come across and I won't support it. In fact "F" fff. I will not be buying their beer anymore. There is plenty of great beer out there. creating a 12 ounce bottle limit is one step too far. If I want a zombie dust like beer I'll make it. There are literally tons of clones out there and then I will have one when ever I want and I will have enough to give to buddies. This is stupid. I can't understand why you people would be so numb headed as to support such BS. Now go wait inline and look like goof balls throwing cash at 12 ounces of beer if you want. I will be supporting better beer options.

I always like to buy it in 3's. I like to enjoy mine with others & one bottle just doesn't do it.

Yeah, fuck FFF because they OBVIOUSLY put the single bottle limit on your distributor, all the while selling 2 case limits at their brewery. Or wait. Maybe your text messaging, twittering, facebooking distributor that got you running down there is the problem?

    ???

fff gives them one case of zombie. Just put it in bombers already. Don't give me that "everybody gets a taste" crap. I've tasted it before. I think most people have at this point. If they wanted to they could only toss it to stores that refused 12 ounce bottle limits. EASY PEASY. It's a marketing ploy.

Standing up for my consumer rights as an american doesn't make me feel like an ass. Dropping what I'm doing to support my local and a beer brewery, and wasting gas to get my local, and then being told to stand in line like some goof young hipster waiting on a new ibook, then being told I'm only allowed one 12 ounce bottle out of a six pack at inflated prices...that makes me feel like an asshole. It pisses me off.

As a shop manager, I personally hate when I have to instate any kind of bottle limit. What do I hate more though? Only getting half of a case of a beer or one case alone of something and having a lot more disappointed people than I do happy people getting to enjoy the beer.
I don't enjoy the bottle limits I have to instate on certain things but I'd rather do that and get more people a chance to enjoy the beer than the opposite option.

If it's $15 for only 12oz, well, it's still just $15. I'd probably spend that on a lollipop if it was touted as best in class. On the other hand, I love single malt scotch, but I rarely buy it because the stuff I want costs upwards of $100. Proportionate spending means nothing to me - something is either expensive or it's not. $15 is not that much, especially for something fantastic. I just make sure that I only buy beer that's fantastic.

As for one-bottle limits, I can easily convince myself that three $15 bottles are simply that: three $15 bottles. I consciously turn a blind eye to the $45 sum total. So the one- or two-bottle limits keep my wallet in check when I go to a place like Hill Farmstead.

A local shop was doing 1 bottle limit, still got my 4 pack. I'm a good customer.

Hoarders did this to us. I hate limits but hey, if it means I get to try a single of something rare, I'm okay with it.

Very few times do we see 1 (12oz) bottle limits, Oracle is the only one that I can think of this year. But often times there are bottle limits on bombers or 750s, which I support because it allows for a larger number of people to try said beer. What gets me is if I love said beer and can't find anymore to have later, then I am pissed. But seriously, I can understand it from a retailer's perspective...it increases your clientele, so it can't be bad.
