No offense, but I haven't had anything from this brewery that even comes close to making my top 50 list. Every Ipa I've had from them is a malty mess. Their pumpkin ale kinda sucked. I just don't get why their even in the conversation of top tier breweries.

I truly enjoy 60 Minute, 90 Minute, Burton Baton, Palo Santo Marron, Chicory Stout, Olde School, My Antonia and several others. Sure, they brew a lot of crap... but when they make a hit, it hits hard. Definitely gotta give them credit.

They make some of the greatest unusual beers. Which means they tend to be very love/hate for most people.

For example, they make the best high ABV IPA (120min, 18%+), IMO. Even Devil Dancer isn't close, IMO. Same for their high ABV brown (palo santo marron). Who makes anything that's even half as good?

They also make the best east-coast style IPAs (60,75,90), IMO. I really haven't had a better balanced IPA that I can think of. Sierra Nevada is probably my second choice but not really the same style, IMO.

Just a couple small examples. Nevermind all of their unusual brews. Who makes a better moonrock beer? Tongue-in-cheek but you get the point. Not particularly popular styles but that's not what they're about. I have a feeling that your question is really "Does DFH make any great beers in the really popular, highest-rated styles (bbal stouts, west coast ipas, sours, etc)." The answer would be no to that question.

DFH 90 minute is the only IPA I can or will drink.

Their Indian Brown Ale kicks ass...the 90 minute, almost perfect...but that's the only stuff from them I usually get so can't speak to their whole lineup, but those are two winners that I'd deem 'great' beers right there.

I thought their pumpkin was OK, better than most, but not great.

I'd try more of that stuff if it wasn't so damn expensive!

Yeah, there's no way someone can have an educated palate without this website to tell them what to think.

Malt is bad? I must be an uneducated dumbass, then. Guess I like my IPAs to not be like drinking a Pine-Sol and Grapefruit cocktail...

No seriously - 120 Minute is one of the best beers I've ever had. Burton Baton, Indian Brown Ale, and 75 Minute are all exceptional. Sahtea, Theobroma, Red & White, and Black & Blue are all fantastic. Everything else is at least solid. Even the Punkin Ale and My Antonia were at least interesting enough to keep my attention. I do find the 60 Minute a little unremarkable and the "Moon Dust" brew coming out to be silly - but they are top-tier simply because they try crazy things now and then. I have yet to see an abject failure from them.

Edit: Forgot how much I love Palo Santo, and that I still have dreams about the two-year old World Wide Stout I shared a while back. Oof.
