Would be cool to see a wider distribution, since they only currently distribute within 30 miles of Waterbury, I don't suddenly expect them to increase that to ~3000 miles. We can all dream, though.

As said above not sure why a brewery making 12 middling beers would suddenly become incredible if they cut down to making only one.

Honestly breweries making only 1 beer are pretty rare in Europe. Not even the famous Orval is an example since they make 2 different beers. Only a handful breweries focus on only one beer usually only very old ones do so for historic reasons. Traditional European breweries do make less different kinds of beers than USA once more because of market demands and how the whole market it shaped. Some brewers do try to run before they can walk. A great brewer is a great brewer whether he is limited to making 1 beer or makes a different one every week. Kernel is an incredible brewery making approximately a million different breweries. Struise only used to make 4 beers or so, they didn’t become worse by making 100+ different beers.

It will happen when Cali starts shipping Pliney to the NorthEast...so probably never.

Let's see here - checking their calender...looks like the 12th of Never. :stuck_out_tongue: Do you know how much I love Russian River and how rarely I get my hands on it out here in VT via beer-trippers? My brother just brought me a bottle each of Pliney and Damnation - neither of them faves by any means but hey, I won't complain.

Can't you just be content with all the other awesome breweries that are in Cali/distro to Cali?

I live in Burlington Vt, where much of the Heady ends up, and even here, with stores getting as much as 30 cases a week, there are lines that form on delivery day. One store has gone so far as to split up putting it out, to a morning batch, and an afternoon batch, so more folks have a chance at it. Limits are also in effect. Even the brewery itself regularly runs out of it by Friday afternoons. There ya have it....

Right after they start distributing to neighboring state New York.

Which I'm sure will happen any minute...

Of course you're absolutely correct. But I would hazard a guess that most of us didn't learn Heady's distribution by creating a thread about when they were going to be coming to our local market. A little ball busting is okay now and then, as long as it's all in good fun (obviously, not everyone is capable of having fun with it).

It appears to be a crappy 1987 movie, featuring Robert Downey Jr., Andrew McCarthy, and Jami Gertz.

C'mon he really brought it upon himself. He hasn't been back to enjoy all of the wittiness though.

Based on interviews I've watched, heard, and read; I think their plan is to keep distribution (or lack thereof) as is, and increase brewing for the brewpub itself back to what it once was before the flood. That would include the dozens of different beers they once had and also allow growler fills on some type of web based reservation system to avoid the huge lines, which John said would be a huge problem for Waterbury.

Question answered in a variety of ways, some more constructive than others.

Before this descends into any further chaos, I'm locking it.
