I thought this is wayyyyy too awesome not to share just in case you're not aware.

Tuesday 11/5: "Bainbridge St. Barrel House celebrates its 1st anniversary with an epic tap list. Tap time - 11:00 a.m., with a free buffet from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. and live music starting at 7:00 p.m"

I've only been to this place once, but they usually have a big list (20+ beers) on draft. For their anniversary, they are tapping a bunch of great beers along with some very rare ones:

    http://phillytapfinder.com/event/anniversary-party/

The two big ones for me are BBPt5 and Hunahpu's. Notables are Oude Tart, Abraxas, Older Viscosity (not hard to find in Philly though).

I'll be taking off work early for it.

I'm sure it's impressive for some but not to a hophead like myself.

Sculpin and Jai Alai are respectable, but yeah, nothing super exciting for hopheads. Other than PtY, which we do get in Philly when the time comes, nothing else (including PtE) is rare in term of hoppy beers for Philly. Here's a list of current or soon to be tapped IPAs in Philly: http://phillytapfinder.com/style/ipa/ . OTOH, you rarely ever see (if at all) the beers I listed in my OP (except Older Viscosity).

Yeah, now that's a hophead's list. I had a PtE on draft in S.F. last week. Also had an 8-day old bottle of PtE. No comparison between the two. I'd travel to Philly for another PtE on draft in a heartbeat. Problem is, it'll take me a couple of hours and will probably sell out by the time I get there.

PtE usually lasts a couple of days. I think there's a keg somewhere each week for the last 6-7 weeks and they get it regularly at Monk's Cafe.

Yeah, I saw this too. They have 3 days of anniversary event I believe. Nice list, great place, but these are all pretty easy to get. Blind Pig is nearly always on at Monk's. PtE, see above. Enjoy By is being served at 5 places right now: http://phillytapfinder.com/beer/stone-enjoy-by-11-12-13/ and is available at many bottle shops. Harvest Ale, Green Bullet, Maximus too. Not trying to take anything away from a solid list, though.

strange that they list BBPT5 at 10%. Regular PT5 is 11% and Bourbon is 14%.

Also, it's a great list, but when you own the distributor for all of those beers, it makes it easier to put together. I'll be there for lunch at 11 or so probably though.

Not really. It's on pretty regularly and for around a week at most places.

Christ, Pittsburgh sucks when it comes to beer. I swear, there are probably 200 other cities that get better distribution than we do, and I know this might sound like a joke to some, but I honestly believe that I have a better chance of winning the Powerball and banging Kate Beckinsale in the same evening than I do of seeing some of those beers listed on tap here in the 'Burgh. It's like we're collectively being trolled by dozens of beer companies.

Lots of rare stuff for the area, but a little more diversity would have been nice. Half of them are stouts

It's really easy to put on an event like that when your dad owns the distributer and gives you the best kegs. They are a blight on what craft beer should be. I've been in this game for years and lose respect for Belvista more and more every year. They handcuff the rest of the bars in the city and give the best beer to the bars they own. I stand firmly by everything I've said and I am proud to stand by my own small amount honor.

I was not aware of this. I only knew about Hawthorne's and Belvista.

Split into two days, and I very much want Abraxas and Brandy Barrel Huna, so I'll be there both days.

Pretty annoying that they split it into two days but that's mostly since I wanted to try everything in one day. Guess I'll be heading there on Wednesday for lunch.
