Good morning hounds of helles and wolfs of witbier! I hope this message finds you ready for another Sunday of all things good, fermented, malty or hoppy in your nonics, snifters and goblets today!

Weather in Central OH is deliciously fall-like. A little rainy yesterday but finally seemed appropriate to break into all the fall goodies that are available. Had some Nosferatu on tap earlier this week and man I love that beer! Perfect amount of malt to support the hop punch that it consistently delivers.

Also grabbed some '13-'14 Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout at one of the local bottle shops. Wow! That bad boy needs some age on it. Delicious as always and a world-class example IMHO but the alcohol is very up front. It always gets better with time.

Enough rambling about stuff I've already had. This is the day and this is the forum to share about a beer that's NEW to you. Please grab a new beer, SAMPLE it, and then SHARE your thoughts, musings, and feedback about what you have TRIED. The "pay to play" guidelines are that you must give us at least a good description of what you've already sampled. Feel free to add to the virtual feedback session by offering up linked reviews, pics, and other media mastery to help us enjoy your new expeditions today.

Thanks for keeping NBS fresh, informative, and fun. I'll be back after my son's flag football bowl game with an offering of my own. Good day and good drinkin'.

    Peace, love, and malty-ness,

    Matt

Good morning, Matt and soon-to-be-arriving NBS people,

Great news in NY as Cigar City Brewing (CCB) has (apparently) blessed us with increased product distribution!

Already onto my second can (lol)

A perfect pour into a pint every time? Awesome.

    There ya have it:

Also great to finally feel like fall here on LI - it's chilly out! Yea!

More good news (for me, at least), as Roadrunner Records made authorized video uploads for Scar the Martyr (all the vids from my posts last week were deleted, as was the user account of the individual who uploaded them :grimacing:)

So, rock on, NBS - one more new brew on deck for later, also from CCB...

    Cheers!

I'll re-state the guidelines AGAIN since this has (unfortunately) been an increasingly common occurrence. I'd really like to see this 452 week tradition continue but it won't with people who can't follow the simple guidelines of this weekly tradition.

I love NBS because I love new beer! It is my 37 birthday today and I have a couple of good beers to share. The first is a style that I absolutely love from FFF, their IIPA. They are always big and tropical with nice sweet citrus flavor. I always rate them much higher than the norm because they taste so freakin good to me! I got War Mullet in a trade because I don't think it will make it to WI. It was very similar to Apocalypse Cow that I had. I hope everyone has some great new beer to share. I have to go check on my chili. Prost!

    New Scotch Ale Sunday

    Greetings NBSer's,

And a special happy b-day to Ri0. Sure felt like autumn here in SCMN this week. Cool, wet and snow in the forecast. We had a heck of a fall here, so no complaining by me. Good times in this area as lots of local breweries are producing some exciting seasonals and one off's that will be on the market in the next few weeks. I figure several of my near future NBS posts will be MN beers.

Today I partake from my friendly neighbors to the east with a Scotch Ale currently #31 on the most popular list for style. At 7.2% a little bigger than I typically take on for an early afternoon beer, but I figure I will nurse this one for awhile as I get busy with my life and football. A little subtler take on style but good.

Greetings fellow NBSers! And, I hope to include fellow NW forum regular Draheim to our weekly post-a-thon. It's been a bit of a weird week, weather-wise here in my niche of the Fourth Corner. Heavy fog overnights, that's been burning off by around noon-1pm, leaving bright, sunny afternoons. I'm house and dog sitting again, but not for my nephew this time, but for an 8 month pitbull puppy named Brinks that is one of the biggest snugglebunnies I've ever seen! Watching the Talladega NASCAR race while enjoying one of the most hyped beers on BA. Thanks to johnmichaelson and Kurmaraja for letting get to try TWO of these: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/27039/16814/?ba=beertunes

New Belgian Pale Sunday (week 452)

Greeting NBS faithful, a lovely day here, nippy in the morn, just gorgeous now. Enjoyed the second half of this bottle with the remains of a Bueso Genesis that I started and half finished while doing a yeoman's morning of sending recycling materials back to those who reuse them into new products, and save us from needing to extract more raw material from the dwindling supplies still accessible in the upper skin of Mother Earth. At least that's my take, and my pleasure to do as my once again work. A yeoman's beer now to slake this thirst I developed, care of the man familiar to us all, but whose name you will know only as first line attribution on my review. Hope you also have a Great American Beer in your glass. Cheers!

Welcome aboard Jake! Would you please take a quick second to tell us what you liked about this beer. Imagine that we're sitting next to each other at a bar, and we're chatting. I ask you what you're drinking, and what you think about it. What would you tell me? Citrusy? Piney? Malty? Bitter? Sweet? Dry? Want another? One and done? Cheers bud!

Another thanks to Kurmaraja for this new IPA as well: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/341/33215/?ba=beertunes. I have a lot of favorite bands, but this one maybe the favoritist. Today is the anniversary of the crash, and I generally prefer to celebrate life, but hell, here's a cover of a J.J. Cale song:

My second beer is a perfect 5 as far as I'm concerned. From New Glarus in the R&D series, Very Sour Blackberry. It tastes like fresh blackberries, but has an intense sour kick. This is a sour/lambic lovers dream beer. I'll keep it short since the Packers are playing. Cheers!

I get lots of citrus and some piney. Wayyyyy better than PtE, which to me is only middle of the road. Good yes but DW is amazing and I'll be buying more as I find it! If you ordered PtE next to me I'd tell you to think that over and get DW instead

Here's an odd "new to me" but not new to anyone -- Dawson's Liquor, one of my favorite Maryland beer spots, has a bunch of Stone 16th Anniversary IPA they must have left in some box in the back for a year and forgotten about. Buying a year plus old IPA seems like a stupid idea, no? Then call me stupid.

So we can guarantee the hops are going to have faded, but what's left? It ends up being a sweet, lemony beer that gets you close to a sweet tea experience with only a bit of bitterness toward the end. It's a bit of an odd experience that I can't say I loved but certainly don't regret. 3.75/5.

Yesterday's new beer, since you didn't ask, was Alpha Domina Mellis by DC Brau. Now that's a fun, bitter hop bomb.
