...how is such an easy to find, well priced IPA so damn good?! Seriously, guys, it's making me feel like a fool for putting off trying it for so long.

SN Torpedo has destroyed my desire to seek out and try new IPAs. Just yesterday, I was visiting a bottle shop about 40 miles from home and they had 4-packs of a popular IPA that I can't buy at home. They cost $13 each. I grabbed one out of habit, then thought to myself ``What's the point? Is this $13 4-pack likely to be significantly better than a $7 6-pack of Torpedo? Heck no.'' So I put it back and grabbed some Weyerbacher Insanity instead.

I like that the 12 pack version is now available at the stores near me. Now I can get more at a few bucks cheaper than with buying 6 packs.

Sometimes we let the hype of harder to find beers keep us from enjoying what has been there all along. Enjoy your Torpedos.

Torpedo makes me so glad that I don't go hunting hyped beers, plain and simple.

Then again, I *did* find a few 6 packs of Nugget Nectar today, too...

(AND I'M NOT TELLING YOU WHERE, THEY'RE MINE, THEY'RE ALL MINE DAMMIT)

Seems to happen quite a bit, we're too busy searching out the whales while the good shit is right under our nose...

I happened to drink a couple of Torpedos last night. It is so true...a great brew, easy to find, and not overpriced.
    SN gets it.

I feel confident to say that at ANY given time there is some Torpedo in my fridge. Absolutely great, delicious, well priced beer. I'd have one tonight if it wasn't Mad Men night. (Knob Creek Old Fashioned)

your not the only one who passed this up a few too many times.... join the club..... don't judge a beer by its label....

Absolutely right. Sitting next to the Torpedo ($28/case) was Dales Deviant @ $3.50 per can. I bought a case of Torpedo & a single of the Dales Deviant because I have never tasted it...but at 3x the cost I better see naked women when I drink it.

I love trying new beer, especially hoppy ones. It always seems to come back to Torpedo at the end of the day. It is affordable, almost every local store carries it in some capacity (year round), usually fresh. You can't say that for a lot of IPA/Double IPAs

This is right on. It's just as solid as it comes. It's also made me appreciate other "everyday" IPA varieties that I tend to overlook--Two Hearted and Huma Lupa Licious especially. Great to have some go-to beers when you need them.

With reviews like this, I shall have to try it. However it will be challenging to sway my opinion that Sierra Nevada is one of the most over-hyped breweries that comes to mind. To date Hoptimum has been all that has lived up. SN price point = GREAT, taste not so much.

Wow, you are entitled to your opinion but you are not going to get much backup around here to say SN is "the most over-hyped breweries that comes to mind." Torpedo, Ruthless Rye, Pale Ale, Bigfoot, Hoptimum, Stout, Porter are all really good to great beers. The fact that all save Bigfoot & Hoptimum can be had for under $10 makes SN an outstanding brewery!

Makes the world go round; I’m ok with going against the status quo.

I am more than happy to say the same thing with a qualifier - Torpedo, Ruthless Rye, Pale Ale, Bigfoot, Hoptimum, Stout, Porter are all really good to great beers, for the price.

I am constantly trying new IPA's and a lot of them are not as good as an $8 six pack of Torpedo. Plus I can find this beer anywhere.
