I will be staying at the River Center in KY next week, 10/31-11/2. I will have rental car and at least 1/2 a day without plans and 2 nights. So heading to Cincinnati is not an issue.

Looking for any advise on bottle shops, as I hope to get some beer and ship it back.

What beers are available in the local area.

Also any great bars & food for the 2 nights I am in town. Or any events that might be going on.

    Thanks

    Ray

Christian Moerlein Brewing Company - Great view of the river, great beer list (in-house and guest taps (including sours)), excellent food (anything from their roaster like the ribs, chicken, pork loin, etc), a little bit pricy but I think you pay for what you get. Recommended in house beer, if they have it, is their IIPA.
Listermann Brewing Co. - Not much to this place except for giant Jenga and nice homebrew store attached. My wife and I got there in the morning and had the place to ourselves. We chatted up the bartender and got a tour of the brewing area, some homebrew advice, and a peak at their sours program. Recommended in house: peanut butter porter if they have it.

As far as bottle shops go, you'll be staying very close to one of, if not the best in the area...The Party Source in Bellevue, KY.

As mentioned above...Moerlein Lager House is a great place for beers and food, it's right next to the BallPark on the south side of downtown Cincy. The YardHouse (within walking distance of Moerlein) has a huge taplist and some great food too.

If you feel like venturing a little bit away from the city, one of my favorite places to grab some food and a few beers is 50 West Brewing Company. They are about 15 minutes east of downtown Cincinnati. They usually have about 12 or 15 of their beers on tap at any given time.

Another place you might wanna check out is The **** & Bull Public House in Covington. They have a good beer menu and some tasty food...also it should only be about a 15 minute walk from where you are staying.

I'd highly recommend Rhinegeist in OTR...they are a new brewery with decent brews.

Anyone know if there are any Halloween events planned at local craft beer bars or breweries?

If RhineGEIST isn't having some sort of Halloween thing I'll be very disappointed.

Wow! I live in Indiana and have never seen PF on tap locally. Don't miss out on that.

If you like IPAs I'm partial to West 6th IPA out of Lexington. If you go to their website they list every place that sells it. If Louisville is an option go to Against the Grain - it's in the Louisville Slugger Field complex.

If anyone is going to this and wants to meet up for a beer, shoot me a BM. Cheers!

A lot of the local Cincinnati breweries are closed on Mondays, but here's a stop you might wanna make

I recommend the Intergalactic IPA, Jungle Honey, and Chickow!
