This happened to me recently. Its not that I never liked stouts, but every fall my internal switch flips from light and summery ales to dark and satisfying ones. I think its because my body wants the calories so I can hibernate.

i rarely crave stouts and porters in the warmer months...the colder it gets the more i crave them...in the winter about half of my beer is a stout or porter, and im a huge ipa and wheat fan

Breakfast Stout is absolutely the best way to go to address these cravings.. unless you have some whale stouts sitting in the cellar.

I just went to a place and had that for dinner. Is that considered "brinner?"

Kalamazoo is most excellent and is little different, one of my favorites. Love the licorice twist.

It is definitely Stout season, I am trying to finish up my IPA's right now, been buying a good amount of stouts and barleywines lately.

Haha, I love this thread. I have stout cravings when it is 100 degrees in the summertime.

Pipeworks Raspberry Truffle Abduction is quite good if you can get one. I have to thank my good friend in Chicago for that nice stout!

True that. I do still have a 4-pack in the closet and I love that beer. But it's still not a shelf beer like FBS is!

I began my journey into craft beers earlier this year due to my love of coffee (definite coffee snob)...so stouts are about all I drink..with the occasional change of pace of Flying Fish Exit 4 (Tripel) or some Tommyknocker Imperial Nut Brown Ale. But mostly: Stone RIS, Founders Breakfast Stout/KBS/Imperial Stout, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, Alesmith Speedway Stout, Clown Shoes Very Angry Beast and of course my "go-to": Old Rasputin Imperial Stout.

I always mix it up. Usually I'll drink really strong IPAs, stouts (imperial or otherwise) and very strong beers in the winters, and lesser strong IPAs and pilsners and lighter beers in the summer, thus my tastes are by season.

Now I'm only 31, but I don't see myself ever sticking to just one type of beer either.

Pipeworks brewed one called Raspberry Truffle Abduction & I loved it. Really tasty & natural raspberry flavor.

Just saw dawg's comment, after posting mine. So yes, I concur

Three words. Bourbon County Stout. If there's only 1 stout to have before you die, that's it.

Yes but its not exactly a "Bells Stout" craving. Its a "stout craving" period. This morning I didnt wake up with it, now Im looking forward to a Pils after work. But its only 0530 and still possible this craving is in its 6th day.

Ive craved stout before but never for days on end. Geez it tasted so good yesterday and i drank my last two. I'll have to make a stop OTW home.

Lil' B's pretty tasty. Had one tonight. Lots of deep, dark roasty character.
