A friend of mine says Dale's Pale Ale is brewed by Coors. I told him he was wrong but he said in a tour of the Golden, CO Coors brewery he saw Dales Pale Ale "stuff". I have been googling to find the connection. I can't find much other than shared distributors between Oskar Blues and Coors. Is there any connection between the two other than Colorado?

Hopefully they were just trying to reverse engineer some dales in an attemp to finally make some good beer.

Nope, there isn't a connection. They are probably just fans.

They're both as cold as the Rockies?

It sounds like your friend has suffered a recent head injury.

Oskar Blues is distributed by a network of Miller/Coors distributors here in Colorado.
    That's about it.

Oscar Blues was one of the first, if not the first, craft breweries to can their own beer. As they were growing rapidly they decided to invest in their own canning line. There is/was a video about this on their web site.

What your friend said is true. Oscar Blues is working with Coors on a new can design based on their proprietary "blue mountain" technology. On the new OB cans, a cluster of fresh hops turns from green to grey when the hops begin to fade.

Am I the only one who thinks that's cool as shit if it's true? I know that it's probably just a deterioration over time rather than the can actually detecting the hops fading but that's still awesome.

Exactly. After a day of stressing coorsbrewing they kick back with a few Dale's.

I wonder if he saw some AC Golden cans and mistook them for Oskar Blues. Either that or he probably saw some Dale's cans laying around at Coors because the workers were drinking them. It's not uncommon to find brewery workers drinking beers from other breweries.
