@misanthrope @angrygrimace None of Almanac's beer have been (or ever will be, if i have any say in it) pasteurized. Beer is best when it's alive.

    Thanks for the update.

I figured that wasn't the case since that didn't sound like something a brewery like Almanac would do given the goals and business model. (From my business-ignorant lay perspective it also sounds expensive)

It's probably long gone. If you want a long shot, it's possible some's still hiding at Jackson's in Lafayette by the Whole Foods, but I've not been there in months (although there was plenty of HPBW there when I last went by). Everything farther west is cleared out as far as I can tell -- I had to eat the $2 surcharge and buy a bottle at Bottles in El Sobrante recently because it was literally the only option left (of which I knew). HPBW probably still worth it at $13. As for Dogpatch... all I can say is good luck. If you pull it off, it's probably a miracle.

Although I do know that Albany Taproom has bottles of Almanac's FR stuff set back for next year for some manner of event or something... not sure if HPBW and Dogpatch are included or not -- Heather didn't/wouldn't specify what/when, but it might be worth watching.

That's definitely not happening right now. It was gone from stores quickly when it came out well over a month ago. Your best bet is if the above poster is indeed correct in saying that it will be released again. That would be sick because it really is great.

Edit: the Almanac beers that can be found in the City right now are Barrel Noir, probably some of the Heirloom, possibly the single hops, which I sadly didn't care for, and there 4 pack stuff like the chocolate one and the extra pale.

I picked up some bottles of Dogpatch and #4 at Swirl in the Castro less than two weeks ago and there was a few left when I left.

Well, sure some stuff like that might be findable, but I wouldn't want to give someone the expectation that they would. Your find is certainly the exception not the rule, at least for all the beer stores I frequent.

Sure, I was just giving an option of a place that I found semi-recently that might still have it.

Yeah, I actually haven't heard of that place (I'm new here, dammit) so I'm glad to add it to the list. Probably stop there next time I go "wiggling" east. Thx!

I am headed to the city in a few weeks for a wedding at The Trocadero Clubhouse, any bottles of #3, #4 or dogpatch near the sunset? I know nothing about this side of SF.

the closest and likeliest is Healthy Spirits on Clement, I've not been since a month but they consistently carried the Almanac sours

I peg the validity of this list at 75%
