    Vampires are practically a universally recognized theme. It's unfair for one or few companies to have a monopoly on a fucking mythological creature that has existed in stories for centuries.

    Though not mentioned, I feel Joss Whedon is to blame for this on some level.

    Honestly, the new label and name are badass anyway. It might be my favorite art from them so far.

    Plus, if I may say so...

    The belgian beer should be a flanders red, or better yet, a strong dark ale. A pale ale named "Vampire" is just stupid.

    Well, vampires ARE pale. I'm good with it. I just love Clown Shoes and their whole approach to craft brewing so the name worked for me.

    It's total bullshit. The worst part? When breweries sell themselves to larger, litigious beverage companies with deep pockets this will get worse. 2500 breweries in the US are going to have overlapping beer names, it's inevitable. It's going to be tough to expand a brand when it's getting hammered by trademark law.

    Or maybe it's a just an unexpected rebranding...a happy surprise!

    Clown shoes is awesome for handling this like the are.

    For the record, I'll never buy beer from a brewery that sues over this. So far my list is:

    Vampire Pale Ale
    Magic Hat
    Brewery Vivant

    It looks like Vampire Vineyards has a product called Witches' Brew.
    Pretty close to "Bitches Brew". It is even in the same shaped bottle... DFH get 'em!
