Pete's Wicked Ale was discontinued in 2011. Suppose I had 2 bottles still full. What would their value be, in your opinions?

Probably the same if they were half full. :grinning:

Fond memories for some of us. We might like it thrown into a trade, but having said that...You ain't gonna get a Blaeber, Rare, or Vanilla Dark Lord for that.

Was just wondering because people on eBay are selling empty bottles for 15 bucks.

Damn, for an empty? Dude I wish you $25. It was a pretty good beer.

Yep, found them in a local redneck liquor store with very poor turnover alongside some ancient bottles of Sweetwater Festive Ale. I have fond memories of buying an Oberon ale there that turned out to be over 2 years old. Was still great XD

Wasn't that good fresh. Drink it yourself and get more enjoyment out of it than you would by trying to sell it.

I don't expect anyone to DRINK a 2-3 year old beer (let alone one at 5.4% abv), I assumed that it would be seen as more of a collector's item.

That was pretty good stuff... for a while it was the only craft beer at my favorite restaurant. Frankly, though, the value is zero... it wasn't THAT good. Have a friend over and drink up

That's odd. Maybe those are old bottles from the pre-Gambrinus (1998) days.

ETA: after a quick unscientific scan of eBay, some of the bottles are listed with a vague 'vintage' designation, and I did see one that listed the year of 1992 going for $4.99, so who knows...

It's worth what a collector might pay for it, put them up for sale and see. Not drinkable, and more valuable intact and full than empty, besides they probably taste like shit by now.

I think my coffee goggles are working pretty well at this point , plus $14.99 seems kind of crazy for an empty bottle.

But to answer your original question- I'd guess that the value of that brand to a collector is from the days before the sell-out, whether the bottle is full or not, so it seems that what you have isn't really worth anything, unfortunately.

I remember that stuff. It wasn't too terrible if I recall. I was unaware it was discontinued.

This is the original branding from back in the '90s. Maybe JessKidden will make an appearance to confirm. This is the labeling i remember when i drank pete's. you can just see the bottom of the diamond that contained the pete's colonial mascot which was also on the bottle caps. once gambrinus bought it, they changed the packaging. including dropping wicked from many of them beer names to appeal more to women, ha. haven't seen what these look like now. my favorite was the pete's wicked summer. these were some of my first craft beers.

Note, this mirror is in a bar that i frequent and they have some other pete's related memorabilia from the '90s.

Fond memories of six packs and bombers of Pete's back in the late 80's. It wasn't too shabby a beer.
