Man, I almost forgot to add the 15th to my Vacation request at work. That would be rough.

So, what's the closest hotel? And what's the cost? I've got a buddy meeting us there and we're thinking of just staying the night too. Thanks!

We have stayed at the Comfort Inn the last couple years. It's about a mile away, and we've done a bottle share in the conference room the night before also, usually a pretty good turn out and is alot of fun. Joion us! I think we paid like $120 or something for the night.

Cool, thanks for the info. Might have to make it for the bottle share too, though I don't know if my liver could hang for that much drinking in a 24-hour period - wow. :grimacing:

I've got some awesome old DIPAs and some infected stouts I'm bringing for the tasting. Should be a blast!

What time do I need to show up? Does the party typically start in the morning on Saturday, or perhaps later in the day? Or even Friday night?

Has anyone set up a spreadsheet for the bottle share yet?

Seems like many of you know how to make beer better then Dark Horse! And I am sure the same people who dislike the way they do things will also be in line to get a full allotment.

This was a small bottle share that Marcat and I set up on a spur of the moment at Comfort Inn and the beautiful receptionist was kind enough to let us use the conference room. Let's not fuck this up and turn it into a shitshow share like DLD.

What time should I get in line for the bottle share at Comfort Inn Friday night?

Dark Horse make a lot of great beers. Plead the 5th is easily the best non-BA imperial stout, and BA Plead is genuinely great. That said, their barrel program has more failures than successes. Not merely subpar beers, but undrinkable beers. Does Dark Horse dump them? No, they write sour on the labels and sell them for $20/750mL.

I guess I don't see how Dark Horse is exempt from the criticism that we all give FFF for their cash-grab barrel reject releases.

COMPLETELY agree @yeahnatenelson!! I've bought several "sour" beers from DH and they were absolute SHIT and drain pours!!

I've learned my lesson with DH and their "sours"...

I am in agreement that the sour beers last year were terrible. I tried the raspberry sour at the summer beer fest and thought it was very good, hope it holds up in the bottle. Personally I'm really looking forward to more BBPt5 since I've been out for a while now, and BA 6 pairs of legs, that beer was absolutely awesome at summer fest.

I will not argue with anything you say. I will mention that most locals and the friendly FIBs I talk to are all of the same opinion, any beer that has not previously been tasted in bottles may not be worth taking the chance. Why this opinion is spoken less frequently or with less animosity attached than in conversations regarding Three Floyds I am not sure. If I were to wager I would say it has a lot to do with the perception of the breweries. Three Floyds will often be seen as arrogant assholes, to whom we owe them our hard earned money to even have the opportunity to be in the presence of their beer. Dark Horse is just a bunch of stoned skaters. You can't blame the acetone on them, they were stoned, they couldn't help it.
