I will soon be traveling from NYC to South Carolina (and back) via I-95. I'd like to make some stops at craft beer stores along the way to maybe pickup some things that aren't available at home. Can anyone provide and suggestions? Not looking to venture too far away from the highway, and not looking to go to a restaurant/brewery, just local craft beer shops. Thanks.

I will second State Line. It is a must. You will not regret it but your wallet will.

Total Wine Claymont, DE is worth a stop just off the Interstate.

I read you're not looking to go to a restaurant/brewery, but what if the beer is brewery only and it's really good, and you might kick yourself later if you found out how close to I-95 it was.

Maybe DC Brau in DC. It's a few miles off I-95. If they have On The Wings Of Armageddon (OTWOA) available at that time, that'll be a nice pick-up. Highly rated and sought after DIPA.

State line will have online coupons as well as a club card. Great growlers and you will see lots if beers you do not see everyday. Plan on dropping a few hundred or more very quick.

    Enjoy

If you're coming from NY then you'll probably take the NJ Turnpike over the Delaware Memorial and miss Total Wine in Claymont. As others have mentioned, State Line in Elkton, MD is a pretty good stop. Incidentally, last summer I made a pretty good New Belgium haul from a Walmart in Wilson, NC. Enjoy the SC beers…their scene is really blowing up at the moment.

State Line in MD will probably be the best place to stop. They are doing some remodeling so if something is not on the shelf just ask someone about it. Also you can skip the $4 toll between MD and DE. If you are heading north on 95 get off in the last exit in MD and head north and it will be on the right after about 1/2 a mile. To skip the toll on your way out turn right on to road you came in on, then make a right on to route 4 in Delaware and the first right onto 896 which will take you back to 95N.

A little bit out of the way, but Sam's Quick Stop in Durham is pretty killer.

Completely agree with skipping Total Wine in Claymont, not a bad store, but State Line will have everything they have plus a lot more.

Excellent choice for some great craft beers. I often make the trek down there from Philly.

By Rite Liquors of Cranbury (New Jersey) is a great place to pick up lots of craft beers at a great price. It is (5 mins) off of Exit 8A of the NJ Turnpike.
