If Oude Tart is a hard to get beer that you have never had and wanted to try $13.00 is ok. Otherwise no.

I have literally never seen it near me. So yeah I would have paid it too. Sucks though if that place was charging 4-5 bucks more just because.

Was it supposed to be a full snifter or a snifter with head space (so 3/4 is OK)?
If it was the last of the keg and they couldn't complete the pour, they should not have charged the full $13.
When I last got bottom of the keg (Prearis quad) the house comped it and apologized for not being able to serve a full 12oz.

From the sound of it though, this bar overcharges. I could get snifters of New Belgium 2013 La Folie, Le terroir, and The Odd Couple for $6 at a little event at a pub the other night.
But if you really liked the Oude Tart, maybe it was worth it.

Just paid $12.50 for the same pour of tart of darkness. About $7 cheaper than getting an actual bottle. I'd do it again though, fine brew.

If you really enjoyed it so what they charged a few buck more. I'd pay a little more for a beer I couldn't easily get and and I loved it.

Seems outrageously expensive, but its the Bruery and their beers are outrageously priced, doesnt stop me from buying them though, the ones I have gotten are always good :slight_frown:

Slaters 50/50 in Pasadena had it for $15 last night when I was there.

You guys are crazy if you think a bar can charge you the same as the brewery. When we price our Bruery kegs we're forced to abandon our regular mark up because if we didn't pints would be like $18. Blame The Bruery for making overpriced beers.

Seems kinda pricey, but if you enjoyed it then oh well. Here in Ohio bottles are $18 so $13 for a draft pour is definitely not something I would personally do. If it was 3/4 full because the keg had run out there's no way they should have charged you that much. A few months ago at The Brew Kettle I ordered a Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous and it was the last of the keg and not a full pour so they just gave it to me for free.

$19.99/bottle here in Michigan, so I just bought my first and last bottle of it. However, had it on tap at Slow's, and it was like $9, I think.

Pricing sounds about right for a Gastropub. Some of these places will sell you a St Bernardus Abt 12 or Bruery Autumn Maple for like $10 so this isn't far fetched at all. You guys getting it much cheaper must be going to different kinds of places.

There's your problem! Liquid Bread has a good tap list, decent bottle availability, but prices through the roof!, and not just for the beer. Everything there is way overpriced. There are so many other places in the San Jose area that carry good craft beers that are priced way better! Harry's Hofbrau, Spread, Good Karma, Original Gravity, Market Beer Company just to name a few.

Soon as I saw this post , I knew it was Liquid Bread. I live down the street , but rarely go there. Only worth it during happy hour, $3 off all draft. Had tart of darkness for $10, still a rip!

The 1/6 keg is sold at wholesale for over $200. roughly 31 cents an ounce, making it very pricey. Overhead is a bitch

I paid 6.25 for 12 oz of Tart of Darkness which is the same cost per keg here in PA. I would never pay that much.. I pay $10 for Cantillon CG 16 oz pours.

I think the only beer I had from Bruery on tap was Sour in the Rye and I think it was $5 for 8oz.
