I cellared last years, looses that hop punch. Defiantly better fresh.

Still no Brown Shugga in my area. Looking forward to trying it!

I wonder if Sucks will be hard to find; seems like the hype train has been picking up quite a bit of steam. I remember seeing Sucks all over the place last year, for seemingly months. Hoping it's the same way this year. Love me some Sucks.

Sucks was the replacement because Lagunitas didn't have the capacity to brew brown shugga that one year. That was one year only and shugga has been brewed every year since. Sucks was so f'ing good and was so popular they decided to brew it again.

$6.99 a sixer? It would be hard to drink anything else at that price.

I have a couple cellared from last year, so I can do a 2-year vertical comparison, but I would assume the 2012's going to be a malt forward version, and the 2013 a hop forward version (after which I will probably no longer cellar them)...

Love Brown Shugga! Keeps me warm when I'm outside deepfrying a turkey in the snow on thanksgiving.

Ok now that I had it..........
it was definitely sweeter last year. And agree, the 10% alc is quite well hidden. A mighty fine beer.

I had some aged Brown Shugga back in April. It was a beer fest and the Lagunitas guy busted open a case from the prior year. It was good stuff.

Was able to find a sixer over lunch, along with some Zombie Dust. Will be trying my first Brown Shugga tomorrow night.

I had Brown Shugga last year and thought it was a little more boozy tasting and sweet than I would have liked, but still enjoyed it, as I pretty much like any beer by Lagunitas. Their hoppy beers all have that similar flavor that I really like. A few months later I had their Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale and I thought it was amazing. Both are almost 10% American Strong Ales but I preferred the Undercover Shut-Down to Brown Shugga.

I had a four year vertical of it a while back, I much preferred the older ones.
