Ithaca can compete! "Let's get tight, it's saturday night!" First one to "lose their shape" pays the check next time. [IMG]

Woke up and polished off the last of my Bootlegger's Knuckle Sandwich DIPA. Considering going to get another refill before they stop filling KS growlers on Sunday.

Had to augment my beer supply for the three-day(!) weekend, being as how I've been enjoying my Box of Hops (saved 2 Creekers and Flower Powers for tomorrow ).
Picked these up after grocery shopping:

Had the YuleSmith and Racer X on hold since Wednesday...
True story: the clerk told me someone spotted my beers, labeled with my name, behind the counter (on-hold) and the guy claimed to be the person they were being held for - lol... Thankfully the guys there know me. I think that was the last Racer X in the store. Whew!

Anyways, wish I'd had the Dragon's Milk yesterday - still don't know where these "official" stout and IPA days come from. I can verify them online, but I can't determine their source, nor (apparently) can I remember when they are in time.
Stout Day redux (I see I'm not alone :stuck_out_tongue:):
Wasn't blown away the first time I had Dragon's Milk.
Loving it right now though :grinning: - this is sweeter, more chocolaty, with a more distinct bourbon oak flavor than I recall - maybe a bit denser, too, and still with a nice milky character.

Another true story (lol): saw these guys opening for Metallica a few (several? lol) years ago, and maybe I've gotten old, but their lead singer, Rob Flynn, ...was spitting into the audience - sometimes water, yes, but also not, and maybe I've become more frail with age, but I thought it was somewhere between gross and disrespectful. I mean, honestly, who the fuck wants that?

Whatevs. I was out of range.

    Cheers!

Marooned On Hog Island Stout. Not bad! I'll go with 'Roll Tide!' since Tennessee is not doing so hot. ; )

jzeilinger was nice enough to give me some of that racer X and let me say, you are in for a treat. Creeker is darn good. I took points off originally for a little oil in the body. But I just tried it against the best DIPA in my ratings and it holds it 's own. I have no more box of hops after today. :slight_frown: It's nice to see Ithaca come out strong cause they are my home boyz. I want to see that box of belgians they have coming out in the spring and I want to see them take on the challenges of brewing against a national array of top notch breweries.

I like it when the french say "Bon Chance" because the way they say it , it means let the best man win. There's no luck in that - just elbow grease and spitfire!

I'd read a bunch of comments about The Creeker and they were all positive. I tried to remain unconcerned, but I was really looking forward to it. Great beer.
Racer X I've been waiting on for about a year now. I missed it last year, and it immediately went onto my list (of beers to keep an eye out for). Totally amped.

    Shit. Empty glass syndrome.

Strike fast - I think it is only available in the Box of Hops (confirm or deny, anyone?), which will be gone soon enough, I'm sure.

    Cheers
