Coming soon to the Bell’s General Store: GROWLERS
    Josh Smith | Bell's Brewery
    11.11.2013

Growlers will debut soon at the Bell’s General Store in downtown Kalamazoo.

A mix of year-round, specialty and seasonal selections will be available to go in two-liter bottles that will feature the Bell’s logo and a swing top lid.

Bell’s commitment to quality begins with the right ingredients and continues all the way to the consumer. That dedication is something we have always been proud of.

Growlers have not been offered in the past because we wanted to make sure everything tasted as it should.

With help from a new state-of-the-art growler filling station that is currently under construction, that commitment to quality can be maintained and Bell’s fans will soon have an additional packaging option – something they have been requesting for some time.

“It’s convenient for those who live nearby and it works really well for our fans who visit from other areas and want to take something unique home,” said Laura Bell, Bell’s Vice President.

More details will be released as they become available.

Might be a little premature for that, no? The level of "meh" will depend entirely on what they allow you to put in it one would think.

Totally agree...just fear they will only release their mass produced brews in this form to begin with. We shall see...but I hope for some cool small batch limited stuff!

Or kittens. Schwan would like growlers filled with kittens. Or dachshunds. I forget.

...and thousands of beer nerds rejoiced with the thought of being able to take home growlers of Oberon.

Just as long as I can take some Sweet Potato Stout home sometime, I will be happy.

Or just as long as the glass doesn't explode like some other breweries' around here.

If they fill with that. These are apparently going to be pre-filled growlers in the store rather than fills from the bar.

Where do you find that information? Someone correct me, please, but I was under the impression that "pre-filled" growlers were illegal in Michigan...?

It will be interesting to see the growler fill station they are constructing. Will it be a sophisticated purge and counter pressure fill unit like Victory has?
