Anyone else go through beer overload?

I am constantly on the hunt for new/unique finds, and when I open my fridge to see the food:beer ratio beginning to be in the 1:10 range i cringe a little.

I am not pounding beer after beer by any means, but because so many of my favorites are 4/6 packs I have stockpiles of beer. Its a good thing, but man I sometimes feel like i need to walk away for a little while...

Then something like BCBS day comes along and im back on the bandwagon.

Self control and taking a break from this website should do the trick.

Edit - easier said than done.

Just remember: there will ALWAYS be something else. So with that in mind, don't worry about missing something because something else is right behind it.

You need to get over that.
New unique beers come out all the time.

I go through stretches where I just want to pound session beers or other stretches where I just want to sip high ABV beers. All depends on what mood Im in.

I think BCBS is going to be my last run on beers until after the new year. I need a new TV anyways.

happens to everyone. I agree about not checking this site all day/everyday. That will help break you of the addiction of needing to constantly buy stuff.

In the same boat currently. I know it's bad when I have a sixer or two sitting outside my beer fridge, because it's full. I get to this point every couple months.

I have something like 150 bottles squirreled away in two different fridges. It's a sickness.

Yes. I have noticed I am not looking forward to it as much lately so I decided to take the whole month of december off from rating and just buy the beers that I have really enjoyed over the past year. :sunglasses:

I'm trying to manage my inventory, and am buying more 4/6 packs of things I enjoy not just for ticking purposes.

I have around 50, but don't really like getting much higher. Don't like cellaring. I like buying and enjoying.

This morning I noticed that a six-pack-sized space had opened up amid all the beers I have in my fridge.

"Ah," I thought, "time to hit up the packy..."

    Not pictured: A LOT

It's to the point where I open the fridge for something to eat..... and it's all beer. So I end up drinking one instead

Find a bottle shop that lets you break 4/6 packs. That way, you can have a variety and save space.

I as well have a fridge full and then some at the current moment, so I have told myself that I am going to wait until around Christmas time before I really do another haul. It actually gives me anxiety knowing that I have so much I want to try out of my fridge, so when I go to get a beer and choose one over another I worry about it.

My exact problem. :/ Being new to craft beer, and 23 is not a good combo. I Spend $$$$$ on craft beer, and not enough on other things...like my girlfriend...

Dude - homebrew. Since I started, I've been spending a buttload less on beer. You'll have to spend some $ to get all your equipment, but if you're doing basic brewing, that can be less than $100 if you do your research.

If you're buying 6er's, homebrew might not save you much (if any, and you might actually spend more), but if you're a guy that buys a lot of bombers, you'll definitely save $. And for whatever reason, since I've started homebrewing, I have much less desire to try new beers. I still grab one here and there, but I just have less desire to do so. Eh, maybe it's just me.

But bottom line, it's fun as hell, and based on your buying habits, can certainly save you $.

I really need to get back into it.

Maybe all of us on overload can create some sort of support group, you know, like some anonymous group where we can talk about our problems with alcohol.......... Oh no........ DAMNIT!
