When I think wine I think California when you think beer and really good beer. Where do you think? Seems North East has a pretty good set up.

from everything ive heard, and not yet experienced personally, Oregon has a phenomenally high concentration of very good micro breweries

The state of Michigan dominates this based on "concentration".

Easily California, but if you're looking for a more concentrated area, the San Diego to Los Angeles area.

West Coast if you are talking about region and not states.

Southern California (LA/San Diego) I think is hard to beat:
    • Bruery
    • Alesmith
    • Ballast Point
    • Alpine
    • Green Flash
    • Stone
    • Port/Lost Abbey/Pizza Port

California comes to mind first- then the entire area between Chicago and New York City-extending up to Michigan and down to Philly- but skipping IN after 3 Floyds

Texas has really stepped up as of late and will continue to do so since we cant have any beers shipped in, I feel like in 10 years if the laws don't change we will have a crazy amount of craft brewing here.

In the time it takes to drive the length of Cali you could go from Maine to about Virginia. I will go for the North East on this one.

It depends on how you define "region," but since BA has the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii classified as the "West Coast," I just don't think any other region can compete with that.

We're talking about more than 650 breweries.

Define "region". If you're talking per capita, it's probably Vermont.

Even though I'd argue the best city would be Portland, it's hard to argue against Southern CA as a "region."
