Having dinner at the sky city tomorrow. Are there any good liquor stores nearby that have a nice craft beer selection.

Downtown Spirits on 7th Avenue will be your best bet. Large selection with growler fills and prices commensurate with the Seattle market. Worth a look.

If you walk from the Needle to Pear Deli, you will have to walk through Belltown. I'd recommend bringing a 9mm, a flamethrower, and an STD testing kit.

Having moved here from St. Louis, I don't understand this statement.

Agreed, I move from Houston and Belltown is not scary at all.

Unless things have changed in the last 30 years, Houston's cockroaches are scarier than anything you'll find in Belltown.

I don't mess with Houston cockroaches. They'll mess you up! :grimacing:

I dunno, I don't even find the Belltown comment amusing as a joke. I grew up in Pittsburgh and love the fact that there aren't any truly dangerous areas here. Also, I lived in Belltown for almost a dozen years. I'd be more afraid of the cops than any citizen you'd encounter in Belltown.

Waiting for someone from Detroit, Somalia, or Juarez to chime in and put all of us to shame.

OP, if you're still in town you might stop by Bambino's Pizza just south of Seattle Center. Some people have complained of lousy service but they have a good beer list. Not sure what they have available to go though.

Just FYI on Bambino's. They are dinner only now. They started closing for lunch a few months ago. I was bummed because I work a couple blocks away and ate lunch there a couple times a month. Might have sat in the back and snuck a beer or two.....

    But yeah, great beer selection.

Does someone from Brazil count?

Unfortunately, I've never been to Seatlle so I can't tell, but will next year, so I'll keep you posted  Probably will be asking for some tips before that though.

I'll wager the worst areas in Seattle have nothing on even the most gentle of favelas. I played Max Payne 3, so I like to consider myself an expert on Brazil.

Belltown isn't that bad. Just mind your business and don't go to the stupid ass clubs that all the suburban kids flock to.
