    For the Pipeworks Kickstarter, there were 4 backers who can help design a recipe/name/label for Pipeworks to cook up. Have any of these beers been brewed and bottled yet?

    November 15, 2013 Update

    First things first. Local Option will be pouring an experimental batch of Barrel Aged Coffee Break Abduction tonight at 7PM. We aged this one in Journeyman Ravenswood Rye barrels and added Ipsento Wildfire Espresso at kegging. There is only five gallons of this beauty so be sure to get some.

    This week we have two old friends returning to the party.

    Abduction, the beer that launched a thousand variants (ok, so its actually four but a thousand sounds so much cooler), is back again. This Russian Imperial Stout is the perfect marriage of roast, coffee, chocolate and caramel aromas and flavor with just enough hop presence to remind you this is America. A perfect candidate for prolonged slumber in your temperature controlled area of choice. $10.99, 22 oz, 10.5% ABV

    Coffee Break Abduction, another member of the interstellar Abduction family, makes it triumphant return. We take Abduction and add vanilla bean and Wildfire espresso from our neighbors at Ipsento Coffee. The result of the neighborhood affair is a big, rich, creamy beer teeming with aromas and flavors of freshly roasted coffee, vanilla, toffee, dark chocolate and caramel. Another perfect candidate for a time out in that temperature controlled spot in the back of your closet.

    Both versions of Abduction will be available for Friends with Benefits pick up later today at Binny’s Lincoln Park and West Lakeview Liquors.

    Last Kiss - Wee Heavy with Fennugreek and Vanilla Added
    Unicorn Galaxy - Imperial IPA featuring Galaxy Hops
    Square Grouper Imperial IPA Collaboration with 4 Hands Brewing brewed with honey and featuring Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic and Amarillo
    Imperial End Of Days - Imperial Milk Stout brewed with cacao nibs, vanilla bean, cinnamon and chilies

    Bringing home Abduction and CB Abduction to join their buddies RT and OT Abduction this evening. Now I just need CT Abduction for a full family reunion - off to the trading forum.
