Strange but I often know what beer I want when I come home even in the early morning. Its a craving of sorts. like today i know for sure Im going to have an Arrogant "B" Ale. I'd say 5 out of 7 days I know which beer Im going to want, and I must have 15 different ones at home. Does anyone else experience this?
i do the same thing...not so much a craving but i pick which ones im going to have when i get home...tonight for me is a HT and a gumballhead....not bad at all
I decide what to drink right before I drink it. I have a few good bottles stashed, a few shelf turds I like that I keep on hand, plus I usually stop at the bottle shop on my way home on fridays. Can't say that I pick my beers out that early.
yes indeed. I have a craving right now for an IPA. I like to plan my meals around tasting a beer too so that always is part of the decision. If it's new beer sunday like today is, I know I will have a new beer and very likely a dark beer. Stout, porter or some kind fo big abv beer. =)
I mean this politely, but perhaps bring it up at your next doctor visit? They might have a few suggestions.
Yes. Not necessarily in the morning, but hours before I have my first beer(s) I think of what I want later that day and in what order. 15, ha, I have nearly 15 different IPAs in my fridge, (not bragging, just sayin, I'm sure others have much more) probably a couple hundred different beers in my basement. Yeah yeah budding alcoholic I'm sure, its the least of my problems. Double Trouble, DirtWolf, Resin so far tonight.
Its called an eye opener, and is the "E" in the CAGE questionnaire of alcohol abuse... With that being said, I think there should be a coffee maple based imperial stout called "Eye Opener"...
Eh, unless you're drinking quickly enough to catch a buzz every night, I think it's normal. Just like I plan dinner the night before, I plan little things throughout the day as I go.
Eh, I think there's a difference between feeling like you need a drink to start your day and thinking about how you'll reward yourself at the end of a long productive day but I think your post was somewhat in jest. I like your beer name idea. You could pair. It with delirium as a breakfast and dinner two pack.
I think a lot of people only read the title, hence the smart-ass remarks. The OP is not saying that he craves beer in the morning, he's saying that he'll know what he'll be craving later that night in the morning. I know what you're saying and it happens to me.. it's like once you get the idea of cracking open a specific beer in your head, all day you have something to look forward to!
I really can't even think about beer until around 1pm, anything before that just seems too far away, although I will check Untappd in the morning to see what everyone drank overnight while I was snoozing. Usually based on that alone I will sort of formulate an idea of what I'm going to drink that night, or whether I will be drinking at all (depending on work schedule). For the most part though, my beer cravings are seasonal. This time of year I'm all about "bigger" beers... stouts, porters, quads, Christmas beers, etc.
As far as "Morning cravings", it's VERY hard for me to open a beer before noon. That being said, I actually thought about this as a thread topic as well. I work second shift and the later half of my shift, a certain beer usually starts sounding so good. Tonight a strong stout sounded good, so while I was working I decided on having a Narwhal. Many of my nights work out where I'm thinking, at some point, about what I'm going to crack open when I get home. So yes, you are not alone!
I guess I haven't graduated to the same level of obsession in this so called "hobby" we all share. I'm going to a bottle share tonight, and may spend a little time pondering what I'll bring to the table. But I usually don't even know if I'm even going to have a beer or not until after I get home from work. Once I get to the point that I decided to drink a beer, that's when I go through a decision process of what I'll actually have. I may however know where I'll be on a given night, and what I'll be drinking, simply by virtue of opportunity. For example, I know I'll be drinking Black Note tomorrow night at a Bells tap takeover. And yes, I'm looking forward to that!
Like today I was craving a bready Pilsner all day and upon making it home I opened a lagunitas pils. Other then the three ignorant, insulting fools I appreciate the light hearted amiable discussion fellas. Thank you.
My doctor just reiterates the fact I have ADD, which explains why I stare at my assortment of beer with a glazed look over my face before deciding what to drink.
When I had my first Morning Delight, I told myself if I could wake up every morning and drink one of these, I wouldn't even feel bad about myself. Alas, it has been harder to acquire than plutonium, so my dreams remain.
I agree! I have OCD and ADHD and read what his thoughts were. To answer, I don't think about what I'm having when I get home, but I do know it will be something. Something poured into a glass and take a deep sniff and enjoy the aroma first, then enjoy whatever it is I poured!
