Well then....I definitely say go to Craft Pride first. You do not get ANY of the beers there in Boston while you would have seen a fair number of the ones at Bangers and Draughthouse there.

Granted, they are are all good. I just like pushing Texas beer on out-of-towners since we don't seem to "export" it out of Texas.

Craft Pride and Bangers are on the same block. There tends to be some overlap on the tap list between the two (both post tap lists on their sites), but I agree with aschwab -- go to Craft Pride first, then Bangers.

Also, draughthouse has their updated beer menu on taplister.

As mentioned above, hit Craft Pride as they are on same block as Bangers. Also, very close to Draught House ... Pinthouse Pizza and Billy's on Burnet.

Cool ... that is how we roll, always trying to "drink local" when traveling.

You guys should also head over to The Whip In while you're in town. 72 taps, lots of local brews, bottle shop and nano-brewery home of this year's GABF Gold Medal winning Bitterama ESB. They make some tasty beers and the brewers are usually bartending, so it's fun to talk them up.

Craft Pride is not only "local only", it's a unique building with a ton of character, including a chandelier made to look like the molecular structure of a hop compound, and a back-lit Texas map on the ceiling with lights for the breweries in the state that they carried beer from.

Thanks for all the love and recommendations guys! It's nice to know people enjoy the place.

Personally, if I'm coming to Austin it's going to be: Us (duh), ABGB (really good beers), Chicago House (only bar on 6th worth going to), Hopfield's (great selection/great food), Hi Hat (tomorrow is Taco Tuesday-get pork), Draught House (iconic status), Black Star Co-op (can't wait to see them expand)…Damn, there are a lot of great places I'm even leaving off

Also, for anyone curious: obviously our website could use some updating on a more regular basis, but we tap a dozen plus new beers every week, and kind of get distracted talking about beers, cleaning lines, and eating pizza. We'll get better eventually, but if you follow us on Twitter and Facebook, we regularly post what we tap that day, or what's coming up. Today/yesterday: St Arnold Endeavour Cask, Deep Ellum IPA, and Guadalupe Rye IPA on nitro. (we like IPAs…)

I would highly recommend the pizza truck, Via 313 at Craft Pride as well. I had never heard of "Detroit style" pizza before, but holy shit is it delicious.

I still question if there is a Detroit style pizza....but dammit, I don't care.

Square pizza with the sauce on top to the toppings, right? Yeah, its a thing.

Did not make it to Craftpride or Draughthouse, but did get to Bangers. Wanted to hit CP but my buddy was being a pain in the ass and didn't want to go back over to that part of town again. Instead he wanted to watch kids wipe out on BMX's at the Xgames display and listen to lame music at Fanfest.

Did get to GIngerman, have to admit we liked it better than Bangers, but probably because it was empty and Bangers was a zoo (Friday vs Sunday).

For some reason we wneded up at thew WHole foods and were -shocked- to see DFH Bitches Brew for sale. Had no idea it had been done again (as DFH pulled out of WI)

And VERY happy that COTA got their heads out of their asses and put in the beer garden so we could drink something other than Bud light/Corona Light/MGD 64 or Dos Equis.

Looking forward to next year already.

I don't know if this is just my experience but Banger's tends to get a huge hipster hoard at night. Craft Pride tends to be steady but chill with more of a beer nerd crowd. Or that might just be the crowd I hang with, lol. CP is my "Cheers"... I always run into people I know there & at the Draught House. Never happens at Banger's.

Yeah...glad they had more than just crap available but it still wasn't worth the price. I just didn't drink at COTA this year. I noticed on T15 they had their specialty beer bar with some locals, New Beligian, and Firestone on tap.

Bangers isn't really my scene, I am a craft pride person but Bangers for have a great beer selection.

Agreed. Banger's is a nice place to start for an early dinner and beer before migrating to Craft Pride. I miss their $8 lunch special.

While the beer is great at Craft Pride I go for the staff. Same reason I go to every place I frequent.
