I am always interested to hear where you began. What brew started your love for craft beer? Who was your first?

Ballantine IPA. Not craft, but started my interest in craft.

    Love Anchor Steam!

Mine was in Germany... Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. Maybe not craft there, but it got me interested in better beer.

I think it was a Snake Dog IPA (if not that one, some other local MD IPA in a can circa 2009). My relationship with IPA early on was that I loved the first 4 oz., drank the next 4, and generally left the last 4 in the bottle as my palate could no longer handle it.

Rogue Dead Guy in 2004 or so.

Was at Whole Foods in Boca Raton, liked the name and label. I still think it's a damn good Maibock.

New Glarus had an amber called Native a dozen years ago or so when I was attending college in Madison. There were a few brew pubs there as well like the Angelic and the Great Dane that furthered my obsession with drinking things other than BMC.

My first wow, what in the hell did I just pour in my mouth? Do I like this, do I hate this, no wait I think I'm in love - Surly Four.

Haha! I can sympathize with that feeling. My first sour was La Folie and I think the same thoughts went through my brain. Now I'm obsessed with them!

Haha, it is a great moment indeed when your thoughts go from confusion to curiosity to passionate...

My first craft beer was Victory's Hop Devil Ale. This was also coincidentally the first beer I ever tried... talk about being baptized by fire! I thought I was off beer for good after that but a month later was craving a Hoegaarden (the second beer I tried the same night as Hop Devil). Things progressed from there and now I'm definitely a craft enthusiast! Also, Hop Devil is now one of my favorite IPA's

Chimay Blue.. Quite the big first step, but I've been in love with Belgium ever since.

Hoegaarden, I suppose. It didn't spark an interest in better beer, it was what I drank exclusively in the same manner my friends drank Bud Light. The first craft beer I had that sparked an interest in other beers was SNPA.

Samuel Adams Boston Lager I guess by definition that the Boston Beer Company is still a craft brewer. Although, I would say Sly Fox Royal Weisse would be the real answer.

Hmmm, going way back here haha, maybe Original Lowenbrau Dunkel? Sam Smith's Nut Brown? Chimay Blue? My first American craft for sure was Anchor Steam if that qualifies, otherwise SN Pale in Dead lot in the 80's

Stone's Arrogant Bastard. Many years ago, and wasn't sure what to make of it. Started delving into Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, then progressed from there. Can't touch Pilsners anymore! Icky...

Ruination! Dive right in I always say. Also Chimay . I had been having a chimay on my birthday for a few years before I was legal.
