    Fellow Houstonians:

    As per Hay Merchant:
"Monday Special Tapping 25th: Jester King Raspberry Saison Cask:

This upcoming Monday, we will be tapping a very special cask from Jester King. This beer has no name, no information; all we know is that is a brand new raspberry saison and you definitely don't want to miss out on the chance to try one of their newest brews before everyone else. It is a light refreshing saison on the palate with a delicious raspberry tart flavor in the background to finish. So don't miss out. Cheers!"

I got to sample tonight, absolutely the same berries used for Atrial. Very good!

    Discuss? Thoughts?

Could it be a blend of Atrial and the saison base for Das Wunderkind?

This makes sense to me as Wunderkind has a bit of Uberkind in it, which is also the base of Atrial.

A buddy of mine got to try it this past weekend and said it is Noble King with raspberries added.

Sigh. We really didn't want word of this beer, or any beer we make, getting out until we've had a chance to do a proper blog post/press release on the beer. As you know, we like to give a full explanation of the thought process, ingredients, brewing and fermentation techniques, and/or historical background for the beer prior to its release. At the present time, this beer has no style designation (we've never used the term "raspberry saison" and this thread is the first time I've read it), fanciful name, artwork or release date. We had contemplated announcing it and possibly releasing it in December. We may however now have to accelerate that timeline.

So Hay Merchant prematurely let word out of the special tapping?
I hope you don't feel acceleration is needed if the beer is not up to your standards for release.

I was wondering about this and figured an announcement was coming soon. Kinda odd to me that you'd send out a brand new beer before making a blog post/press release, and not expect word of it to spread like wildfire. But then again, y'all released the new Noble King and posted about the changes afterward. I didn't see anything wrong with that.

Anyway, I'm excited to try this beer and I'm looking forward to reading your post about it soon.

So bad news, I had told the guys at Jester King that we would wait to tap this cask until they had put all aplicable info out. I had attended to tap one of the casks/kegs we have from Jester King on monday but not this one. I am going to pull this keg until Jeff and the guys have put all their info out. Check our social media feeds for info on the beer we plan on taping Monday, but I can assure you it will not be the Raspberry beer.

Oh and yes, feel free to blame Phil.

I get your point, but we'd at least like to have a chance to give the beer a name prior to its release.

If you drink a beer that has no name and you cant check into it on untappd, did you really drink it?
