I was having a discussion with a couple of beer buddies on their favorite Barrel Aged Saison, so I thought I'd throw it out there and find out what other people think. Some of the ones we came up with was HF Art, Flora, Mimosa (kinda out out of reach of just a Saison), CD6, CD7, Saison du Fermier, Sante Adairius Nonna's Blend, HandFarm and Surette Reserva. These are one (if not the) of my favorite styles right now and can't get enough of them. Some more interesting but not favorite would be BA Flora Rustica, and Sahalie, Extra Sour b1(not sure if barrel aged or not), and others.

Love Civil Disobedience 6. It is extremely juicy and flavorful. Plenty of floral notes and a subtle spicyness!

Hill Farmstead Flora is my highest rated barrel aged saison.

Lemme go to the whale store and pick some up so i can let you know.

But seriously, I have never had a BA saison, unless you count Sofie (20% white wine barrel aged.)

That's the sweet spot. You know you've drank the right amount of interlude when you've pissed the bed

Upright's BA Flora Rustica was delicious, but one that stood out was Logsdon's Oak Aged Bretta with some age on it.

I haven't had a lot of them but I really loved interlude. Flora was good as well, but for me interlude hit the spot.

The thing to me about saisons is that the flavors themselves are pretty delicate and subdued, so it takes a really light touch to get them to work well with barrel aging. There are really very few that I've liked that aren't overly oaky or the previous contents aren't overpowering the beer itself.

I'll go with Anchorage Love Buzz. That blew me away when I first had it. This was prior to me trying stuff from Tired Hands, Hill Farmstead, Prairie, Sante Adairius etc.

Despite not being a fan of barrrel aged saisons, Funkwerks's Monarch (which was 50% Exile King that had been aged in Chardonnay Oak Barrels for 8 months, 50% fresh Tropic King) just might be my favorite thing those guys have done.

Love Buzz and Surette Reserva are among my favorites, I'm glad that they'll be blending the Reserva into future batches of reg Surrette. SARA's Cask 200 and West Ashley are my newest favorites, not to mention Appreciation, Nonna's Blend, and a few other blends that Tim has done. The man can't do wrong with a good saison!

I am adding Cask 200 and Saison Du Blé as some new favorites. White wine barrel seems to be my preference.
