i just recently kegged an irish red. i was trying to get it carbed up quickly so i set it to 30 psi and left it overnight. it was approx. 30 hours. i went to take a sample and the keg was totally empty. There was still alot of pressure in the keg, and i checked for leaks when i sealed it up.

I saw a small pool at the bottom of my kegerator, but only about a pint or 2 worth. there was nothing around the kegerator either. i cant figure out how it got out of the keg, or where it went.

Has this ever happened to anyone??

yeah i would get it if there was a huge puddle around the kegerator or something.

update. i filled up the keg with water to check for a leak and i found a small leak in the gas post. the poppet didnt seem to be snug, and some star san revealed a small leak. i still dont understand how that would lead to the disappearence...

Did you accidentally the whole thing?

Maybe it went into your co2 tank somehow??

Is it on a wood floor? Maybe it leaked out of the fridge somehow and seeped through the floor. Im in for what happened.

Fuckers drank most of a keg of Kolsch on me last summer. Now I wrap a chain around my outdoor keezer so the door can't swing open..

Do you keep your keg in the garage? Honestly it seems like your Irish red was raided, and if its not in a secure place then maybe that really is the answer. Otherwise, I think I have to go with the group consensus here- BEER GNOME

i never did figure it out. my co2 tank wasnt all used up, and i never found the beer. there was a small water stain around the back of the kegerator, but still not 5 gallons worth. i took some pics. ill try to post them tomorrow. i went ahead and changed out all my tubing, connects, keg parts, etc. ive kegged 2 more beers since then. they both are perfect. it will be one of my life's great mysteries...

Strange ? My loss was very apparent . I opened the door to my shop where my keezer is and smelled beer, not good , I turn on light & am greeted with a 8+ gal Of bells best brown on the floor & empty keg.
Good part was it was in workshop pretty easy clean up.
Went online & ordered shut off valves ( attached to top of sankey ) now
IF I can remember to shut them off this won't happen again. ( as the beer leaked from the tap )
    Live & learn
    Cheers

Are you sure it was the same keg in there the next morning? Maybe someone took out your full keg and replaced it with an empty keg because they thought the beer needed to age longer and it will magically be replaced on day.

i had this happen to me years ago, i thought i was being smart by disconnecting the liquid out ball valve on my corny when i went on vacation. When i returned i found a stuck poppet had emptied my bav hef into the keezer floor.
